ABSTRACT: The twenty-fifth anniversary International Geoscience and Remote Sensing symposium (IGARSS05) was held from July 24th to 29th 2005 at the COEX and COEX Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul, Korea. The conference theme was "Harmony between Man and Nature", perhaps to represent the urgent yet wishful harmony for the most populated region of the world with the most rapidly growing economies in the region. The conference was attended by 1235 registered delegates, and 31 accompanying persons from 52 countries. This year's IGARSS was the first time for which the most attended country was china with 406 delegates. Another noticeable number is the student participation with 506.
