"Professional assassin John Lago faces off against his deadliest adversary yet--his wife. At the end of The Intern's Handbook, John tracks down his nemesis Alice but instead of putting a bullet in her head, he puts a ring on her finger and marries her. Together, they execute a hostile takeover of Human Resources, Inc., the "placement agency" that trains young assassins to infiltrate corporations disguised as interns and knock off high profile targets. As HR's former top operatives, they are successful until conflicting management styles cause an ugly breakup that locks John out of the bedroom and the boardroom. But when Alice takes on a new HR target, John is forced to return to the office battlefield in a role he swore he would never play again: the intern. What starts out as a deadly showdown turns into the two of them fighting side by side to save HR, Inc.--and their marriage"--
Shayla, is a straight arrow, following the rules kind of girl, with an overprotective father. Qualyn on the other hand is her complete opposite, but it was love at first sight. And as life would have it, everything doesn’t go as planned, once Shayla’s father gets wind. Can love conquer all or will there be a war on the horizon.
The first book to look at both aesthetics and human resource development, this timely and original work investigates existing, as well as possible future, connections and relations between the two areas. Well structured and expertly written, The Aesthetic Challenges of Human Resource Development is undoubtedly a valuable reference for students of human resource management, business and management, and aesthetics.
Arguing that the richness of black culture today can be found in the interstices between God and gangsta' rap, Dyson charts the progress and pain of African Americans over the past decade, and brings together writings on music, religion, politics, and identity to offer a multi-faceted view of black life.
Prompted by a gruesome message, Marco heads out to rescue the kidnapped Constance. Drawn to a place he’d consigned to a dead past, he’s plunged into a desperate fight against an enemy he once thought of as a brother. It’s a time of betrayals and reversals, separations and farewells, as chaos threatens to tear the city of Ergastulum apart. -- VIZ Media
As Erica stalks through Ergastulum, leaving a trail of dead in her wake, Delico copes with the heartbreaking news that this most dangerous Hunter is actually his long-lost little sister. After a lifetime of separation, he’s determined to rescue her—one way or another—but a fragile sibling bond may not be enough to counter the merciless force of destiny. -- VIZ Media
This book is the result of an ethnographic study on the impact of Black cultural diversity on social action. The ethnography has three important characteristics. First, it incorporates the multiple perspectives of the ethnographer with the diverse voices of the people through an unusual form of reflexivity that provides additional insight for the descriptions, analyses, and conclusions of the book. This epistemological method is used to challenge traditional structures of ethnographies. Secondly, it argues for the consideration of non-traditional approaches to studying the Black experience - a focus away from race relations and issues of class and an emphasis on intragroup interaction and diversity. Thirdly, it investigates the processes, social institutions, and structures within the Black community of a small college town that influence social change and social action since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
A story of black organized crime follows Prince from his beginning as a teenage ganglord to his position as head of Detroit's powerful mob.
