Ancestry is traced to Niquilly Pellot who lived in La Neuveville, Canton Bern, Switzerland in 1432. His descendant, Jonas Pelot (ca. 1687-1754), was probably born at La Neuveville. He married Susanne Marie Jaquet ca. 1716 and later (2) Jane. Jonas and Susanne immigrated to South Carolina in 1734 and settled in Purysburg, Granville County. Descendants lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, and elsewhere. Includes information on other Pelot families also.
Samuel West (d.ca. 1701/1706) immigrated from England to Charleston, South Carolina in 1669. Descendants lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Alabama, Texas and elsewhere. Includes some English ancestry.
Richard Simrall Hawes III (1925- ) was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Richard Simrall, JR. (1899-1961) and Marion Fredericka Lemp (1900- 1962). In 1950 he married Marie Christy Johnson (1930- ), daughter of James Lee Johnson (1906-1985) and Eleanor Clark Church (1909- ). Both Richard and Marie Christy descend from early settlers of New England and Virginia. They are the parents of five children, four of whom are still living.
