Knox is sending Randall two notes -- one for [dollar sign] 3,000 and the other for an unknown amount. Asks that the [dollar sign] 3,000 note be discounted independent of Duer and on Randall's own credit. Randall was of the house of Shaw and Randall -- probably a reference to Knox's former aide-de-camp.
Informs Knox he can defer Knox's payment for one month, at which time Randall must absolutely remit to London to make good my arrangements there. Free stamped on address leaf with no signature.
