Have you ever gotten a not-so-nicely wrapped present from Santa? Well there's a story behind those overly taped gifts - the story of one elf with two big hands and an even bigger dream. Ham Hands the Christmas Elf helps wrapping-impaired parents explain some of those poorly wrapped gifts from Santa, and adds a little more magic (but not more work!) to the Christmas season.
After being kicked out of Santa's Workshop for being a little cranky, Marlie is sent on a mission in the Outside World: teach Jacob Triumph--the real-life role model for Scrooge--the true meaning of Christmas. He's a tough case but she's determined to succeed and earn her place back in the Workshop. It's all very confusing...and delicious. Jacob is so handsome and she has the strangest urge to run her hands and her lips and oh, maybe her tongue, across his whole body. A brief foray into Jacob's dreams--for research purposes only, of course--reveals the most unusual desires. His dreams are filled with kissing and licking and bodies rubbing together and the whole process makes her hungry for more. What's an elf to do? Make a wish and try to make Jacob's dreams come true.

Every December an envelope bearing a stamp from the North Pole would arrive for J.R.R. Tolkien’s children. Inside would be a letter in a strange, spidery handwriting and a beautiful colored drawing or painting. The letters were from Father Christmas. They told wonderful tales of life at the North Pole: how the reindeer got loose and scattered presents all over the place; how the accident-prone North Polar Bear climbed the North Pole and fell through the roof of Father Christmas’s house into the dining room; how he broke the Moon into four pieces and made the Man in it fall into the back garden; how there were wars with the troublesome horde of goblins who lived in the caves beneath the house, and many more. No reader, young or old, can fail to be charmed by Tolkien’s inventiveness in this classic holiday treat.
At the 2013 "Celebrating The Hobbit" conference at Valparaiso University--marking the 75th anniversary of the book's publication and the first installment of Peter Jackson's Hobbit movies--two plenary papers were presented: "Anchoring the Myth: The Impact of The Hobbit on Tolkien's Legendarium" by John D. Rateliff provided numerous examples of The Hobbit's influence on Tolkien's legendarium; and "Tolkien's French Connections" by Verlyn Flieger discussed French influences on the development of Bilbo Baggins and his adventures. In discussions with the plenary speakers and other presenters, it became apparent that a book focusing on how The Hobbit influenced the subsequent development of Tolkien's legendarium was sorely needed. This collection of 15 previously unpublished essays fills that need. With Rateliff's and Flieger's papers included, the book presents two chapters on the Evolution of the Dwarven Race, two chapters on Durin's Day examining the Dwarven lunar calendar, and 11 chapters on themes exploring various topics on influences and revisions between The Hobbit and Tolkien's legendarium.

Time marches on... Santas and Elves come and go at the North Pole complex. For some the reasons they choose to leave are personal, for others it's a dismissal. Santa's annual Mission must never fail despite how each passing year adds complexity amidst a world plagued by endless wars and upheavals. The denizens of the North are not secluded from the human world's problems. The complex is not the utopia it was intended to be. Those who call this place home must come to terms with the turbulence of history and not allow personal issues to disrupt their commitments. Long before Mistletoe Green came along there was another, far sinister elf who used the marvels of the North Pole for her own agenda at the peril of both Santa and elf. Anna, Tetsu, and Hilda will each face challenges that threaten their legacies and centuries old friendships. About the series: The Magi Charter For over two thousand years the legend of Santa Claus has endured. His is a Mission of peace as outlined in the Magi Charter, given to the first Santa by the Child. From humble beginnings, following that First Christmas, the Santa lineage has been passed down through the ages. This epic adventure tells the story of those Santas from the founding of the North Pole and the origin of the ancient elves, to our modern times where the world's problems affect even those in the secluded complex of the North, and concluding in the distant future which finds Santa and the elves committed to their mission on a galactic scale where Christmas traditions are barely recognizable. In every era, those committed to the Mission must find a way to deliver that which is needed most to those most deserving.
