Turn off your lights, get ready for frights! When the clock strikes midnight and the moon's full and bright, it's time for dread and fear. For Mr Midnight is here with two stories, double the danger and twice the terror! STORY ONE: Raider Goh's school play turns into a nightmare! Suddenly he becomes GOOD KNIGHT, RAIDER GOH, and he and his friends fight monsters and evil beings with King Arthur and Sir Lancelot. STORY TWO: Zandra Chew and Roxy Ong are invited to their friend's house for the night. But strange things happen because someone wants them to SLEEP OVER AND DIE!
One night the Good Knight was on watch, he heard a very large and very loud roar. So the Good Knight limed down the very high wall to jump on his horse. Away he cried! He came to a deep dark cave. Inside he saw a little dragon. He was dressed in his jammies, for he was ready for bed. then he went back to the tower and climbe the very tall wall.
The Knight Light is a story about the Knights of Light who can help children sleep through the entire night! The Knights of Light also encourage keeping good hygiene and to get a good night's rest, so the children can wake up and be their very best. As the Knights of Light like to say, "may we help give you comfort, to never feel fright, and with a grand gesture we bid thee goodnight."
"Goodnight, Knight" not only focuses on the long vowel I sound, it also teaches children to face their fears, to treat others with the same respect they would want to be treated and to give others the opportunity to grow and learn. The knight chooses to use kindness and compassion when faced with what he could have perceived as his enemy and teaches this potential foe, the spy, to help instead of hurt others.Learning to read can be very difficult for children. It is important that the steps are small enough to ensure success. Many early reading children's books immediately cover all short and long vowel sounds together, which is very confusing for first time readers. Through my research, I have found that it is very important to introduce the vowel sounds one at a time. Since there are so many first time reading books that blend too many words with too many vowel sounds together this can be frustrating for children and sometimes makes them want to shut down and give up. Therefore, I created these books so that children can build their confidence when reading. Each book focuses on a particular vowel sound and starts out with simple words for success. This book focuses on the long vowel I sound. First, practice the focus words with your child that are in each book. Next, each book is meant to be read by the parent to the child, then together, and eventually let the child try on their own. When reading the books, point to each word and each sound as you read it. Then, work on blending the sounds as you point to each sound with the child. Continue practicing the focus words in each book and reading to and with your child. Since each book focuses on one vowel sound, it helps them to succeed in building their reading skills by working on one book and therefore one vowel sound at a time. As your child builds confidence in one book, they can move to the next. Happy reading!
