Growing up in rural Saskatchewan, Troy Schaab’s life focused on hockey and the farm—though his true love was music. Spending the last two years of high school in North Battleford to play hockey, he soon realized that his dream of becoming a heavy metal drummer was not realistic, and he began preparing for a future back on the farm. Before he packed his bags, his friend persuaded him to come to an open house at Saskatoon’s Western Academy Broadcasting College, which changed Troy’s life forever. But Troy wasn’t sure of his career choice. Having sent out hundreds of demos after graduation, he had yet to hear back from a single station. With sheer determination to make it in this field, he lucked out and began interning at various stations, beginning with a night shift at Saskatoon’s Sun 102 FM. Getting a taste for radio DJing, Troy worked across the prairie provinces, finding success with his first evening host gig at Country 108 CKSA in Lloydminster. Here, his luck began to change, along with his name: Troy Stevens instead of Schaab. Soon he was interviewing country music’s greats—starting with Shania Twain—and was on cloud nine, only to have his dream topped off by meeting the love of his life: Sonia Sawyer. Becoming an inseparable team, they married, travelled together, and always dreamed big. So, it was no surprise that after four years of being a co-host for Red Deer’s morning show, The Troy and Gloria Show at Zed 99, that Troy wanted more or wanted out. Though he still enjoyed his profession, he couldn’t help but wonder if there was something more for him in this career. With one final roll of the dice, he set out to build a new legacy within the broadcasting industry. Go with Me on This follows the dream of Troy “Stevens” Schaab in radio, sharing the ins and outs of the profession, and how determination and passion for one’s career can bring the biggest joys in life.
NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING ANTHONY HOPKINS Set in the unforgiving Vermont wilderness, this is a “gripping, taut tale of suspense . . . that sparkles with sly insight and cuts like a knife”—for fans of Cormac McCarthy (The Boston Globe) The Vermont hill country is the stark, vivid setting for this gripping and entertaining story of bold determination. The local villain, Blackway, is making life hellish for Lillian, a young woman from parts elsewhere. Her boyfriend has fled the state in fear, and local law enforcement can do nothing to protect her. She resolves, however, to stand her ground, and to fight back. A pair of unlikely allies—Lester, a crafty old-timer, and Nate, a powerful but naive youth—join her cause, understanding that there is no point in taking up the challenge unless you’re willing to “go through.” In this modern-day drama, a kind of Greek chorus—wry, witty, digressive; obsessively, amusingly reminiscent; skeptical, opinionated, and not always entirely sober—enriches the telling of this unforgettable tale as the reader follows the threesome’s progress on their dangerous, suspenseful quest.
God calls each of us to himself, to ministry, to fellowship with other believers, and to enjoy the journey. The life he has designed for us is hinged on him and abundant through our fellowship with him and our fellow travelers. In learning the rules of the road and embracing our specific call, his presence becomes real, even in times of darkness and distress. In a collection of stories and lessons inspired by a blog, Marthe Curry invites others to meet ordinary people who are learning to know Jesus through study, prayer, obedience, and failure. Organized by guideposts, the stories provide insight on how to discern God’s direction for us, grow a personal relationship with God, appreciate the unseen presence of our faithful Lord who sustains us to our destination, and discover our gifting and wisdom as we walk together with the Father and each other. Included are prompts for walking Christ’s narrow way and spaces for reflection. Come and Go with Me shares stories and lessons from everyday people that lead believers down an inspiring path to pursue a deeper faith in a loving Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.

My purpose in this summary is to introduce myself and my character. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my story. I come from a strict family background of fifteen children. When my father passed away, I was at the age of sixteen. I knew nothing about life experiences or how to deal with different issues. The only thing we were allowed to do was go to school and church. We had no friends because we were not allowed to. We were very sheltered and withdrawn from society.
Shares uplifting advice about the virtues of forgiveness, offering strategic and biblically based advice on how to achieve peace and personal fulfillment by letting go of past wrongs.
In the darkest days of the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Anna-Maria van der Vaart sheltered Allied pilots, gave refuge to persecuted Jews and participated in audacious acts of sabotage. She survived when others did not, a witness to their courage and to the terrible treachery that betrayed so many of them to the Nazis. Tens of thousands of Dutchmen elected to fight with the Germans, while many civilians turned over their Jewish neighbours to an almost certain death. Holland’s Jewish leaders prevaricated, hoping to save their people and their own skins. But the exploits of the Dutch Resistance produced unimaginable heroism and unparalleled self-sacrifice. A chance meeting with Martin Sixsmith in 2019 led to Anna-Maria telling him her story. In Dutch and German archives, interviews with survivors, personal diaries and contentious memoirs by those with things to hide, Sixsmith came across a drama on a scale he could never have imagined. My Sins Go with Me is a story of remarkable bravery, and of cowardice and betrayal in the hardest of times.
