This publication addresses inspection basics, concepts and methods on how to plan inspection activities, perform inspections of safety related structures, systems and components, evaluate the safety significance of inspection findings, and document the results. It presents high level considerations for the inspection of selected programmatic areas including plant operations, radiation protection, fire protection and maintenance activities at nuclear power plants (NPPs). The publication focuses on the regulatory inspection of operating NPPs and, when applicable, describes how the same inspection techniques can be applied to facilities undergoing construction, preoperational testing, and decommissioning. The general techniques described may be also used in the inspection of other types of nuclear facilities.

The AMS Specialty Crops Inspection (SCI) Division developed these instructions to help officially licensed personnel inspect agricultural commodities. These instructions do not establish any substantial rule not legally authorized by the official grade standards. These instructions replace General Market Inspection Instructions dated April 1988 and include, but not limited to, all previous correspondence, memos, inspection instructions, or procedures.
This book covers the technology of inspection of metals, the main emphasis on final part inspection at the manufacturing facility or on receipt at the user's facility. The unique feature of this book is that it provides an intermediate level introduction to the different methods used to inspect metals and finished parts and a more detailed review of the specific inspection methods for important metal product forms. The book is divided into two parts: Part I gives the basics of the most important methods used for inspection and testing, while Part II covers the types of methods used to inspect different classes of metallic parts. The advantages and limitations of each method are discussed, including when other methods may be warranted. In particular, the chapters on specific product forms (e.g., castings) compare the different inspection methods and why they are used.
