The book of Daniel has always been at the heart of studies on Bible prophecy for God's people. The name Daniel itself means God is my judge. Living in the judgment hour naturally draws students of prophecy to a book about the judgment. We live at a time when we need to draw closer to Christ more than ever. E. G. White commented, “Those who eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of God will bring from the books of Daniel and Revelation truth that is inspired by the Holy Spirit.” While digging deeper into the prophecies of Daniel, it is amazing to see the practicality of Christian living in this apocalyptic book. In each chapter, the author, Norman McNulty, brings out the practical message of Daniel for God's people living in these last days in addition to digging deeper into the apocalyptic passages.
Soldiers who go to war without knowing how the enemy fights, end up as casualties. It's called the element of surprise, and Satan has that strategy down to a science. But he's basically used up his playbook, which means that if we understand his past attacks, and God's equally strategic response, there's no risk of catastrophic surprise. The original rebellion in heaven and the life of Christ set the pattern. The inspiring and disturbing life of one man (John Harvey Kellogg) provides insight into both the beginning of the loud cry and the alpha of apostasy. God has provided the vital intelligence we need to survive the greatest onslaught the world has ever seen.
Sermon series from the 1893 General Conference Session. In a letter to the author of these sermons, Ellen White said: "I have been instructed to use those discourses of yours printed in the General Conference Bulletins of 1893 and 1897, which contain strong arguments regarding the validity of the Testimonies, and which substantiate the gift of prophecy among us. I was shown that many would be helped by these articles, and especially those newly come to the faith who have not been made acquainted with our history as a people. It will be a blessing to you to read again these arguments, which were of the Holy Spirit's framing." (Manuscript Releases, vol. 9, p. 278)
Born just as the Civil War began, Lewis Sheafe grew to manhood at a pivotal moment in American history. But instead of racial equality, the nation offered its freed slaves further oppression and injustice. Sheafestrong-willed, dynamic, and seemingly tirelesshad but two main objectives: uplift his people spiritually and socially, and consistently adhere to biblical principle in all aspects of life. In this gripping biography Douglas Morgan pieces together the life of this forgotten leader whose story sheds light on the reason that no lasting, separate Black Adventist denomination ever formed.
