I am of the Opinion that he and our progenitor, J ohn Walker, were related my Opinion is based chiefly upon the fact of a similarity of Christian names in the two families, and then it will be remembered that soon after coming to America J ohn Walker and several members of his household left Chester County, Pennsylvania, where they had made a temporary home, and went down into Vir ginia and settled not far from the home of this Dr. Walker, Whose presence there was probably known to his kinsmen, if they were re lated, who were seeking homes in a new country. Walker Family
Robert Walker (ca.1607-1687) emigrated in 1632 from England to Boston, Massachusetts. John Walker (1794-1869), a direct descendant, became a Mormon in 1832, and his family moved from Vermont to Utah. A son, William Holmes Walker, was a member of the Mormon Battalion. Descen- dants and relatives lived throughout the United States. Includes the history of the organization and officers of the John Walker Family Organization, some of its reunions, etc.
John Walker Jr., son of John and Jane McKnight Walker, was born ca. 1680 in Scotland. He married Katherine Rutherford in 1702 in Wigton, Scotland. He immigrated to America in 1726 and settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania where he died in 1734. Many of his children moved to Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Alabama, and elsewhere.
