The influence of spore dosage upon the effectiveness of Various chemicals is very marked and conforms generally to the scale of bunt reduction shown in table The scale of spore dosage is therefore conducted as an essential part of every set of experiments with fungicidal solutions or dusts. These results agree closely with those secured by Heald, at Pullman, Washington,15 whose-researches caused him to believe that an accurate prediction of the possible bunt per cent in a crop can be made from determination of the number of spores on the seed sown.
