Excerpt from The Story of Redemption: From Paradise Lost to Paradise Restored The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom.6 : 23.Redemption, in a Scripture sense, and as contemplated in this volume, is the giving of eternal life to a race of beings justly under sentence of eternal death. "By one man Adam sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Chapter 5:12. Therefore all are by nature under condemnation of death. So also redemption has been offered to every one: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. But this Gift for man's redemption does not inure to the individual without an unqualified acceptance, on plainly specified terms. There must be belief in the Son. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and "He that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Verse 36. Another condition is, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1 :9. Then our short existence or probation in this world is a matter of life or death to all eternity. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
