This book is for Christians. While I hope that many who are not Christians may read it and be drawn into the freedom found in fellowship with Christ, my principal goal is to reach Christians who hunger and thirst after the meaningful life of freedom in Christ that they never seem to attain. It is for all who stumble and fall, who think they can't get up but hate lying there. It is for those who have squandered their lives living everyone else's dreams but have never lived their own calling in Christ. It is for those who have fought for freedoms but still are not free. It is my prayer that this book will help God's people become what they are meant to be in Christ: FREE!

This book surveys the history of African-American Christian churches through the study of fourteen notable black clergymen. In addition to the challenges that normally confront heralds of the gospel, African American Christians also faced slavery and racial discrimination. Their deep love for Christ and their fellow believers and their passion for lost souls made them dauntless soldiers for the Lord, proclaiming the way of salvation and the equality of all men and women in God's sight. - Publisher.
Working daily now for over eight years in this environment has opened my eyes and heart to the epidemic of crime in America and the horrible consequences it has on both the criminal and their victims. Most of our correctional facilities are under- funded, under staffed and in dire need of renovated and/or new facilities to secure the inmate population they are required to service. At Riverside where I am privileged to minister our facilities are modern, exceptionally clean and managed by a top-notch staff. Even with these assets our stress level is very high as we seek to house and provide care for a daily average of 1300 inmates. It takes an incredible amount of time, talent and finances for the sworn staff to maintain security and a safe environment for both the inmate population and our staff. This is true in any jail or prison and the average citizen has no concept what it is really like on the inside. I have developed such a high respect for Correctional Officers who work every day on the front line, the civilian staff who provide much needed programs and support and most of all, the Command staff and Administrators who are responsible for the over-all management of these facilities. They need and deserve our daily prayers.
A book about the freedom Christ offers, specifically for those struggling with lust and Pornography.
New York Times Bestseller Jinger Vuolo, the sixth child in the famous Duggar family of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, recounts how she began to question the unhealthy ideology of her youth and learned to embrace true freedom in Christ. When Jinger Duggar Vuolo was growing up, she was convinced that obeying the rules was the key to success and God's favor. She zealously promoted the Basic Life Principles of Bill Gothard, fastidiously obeying the modesty guidelines (no shorts or jeans, only dresses), eagerly submitting to the umbrella of authority (any disobedience of parents would place her outside God's protection), promoting the relationship standard of courtship, and avoiding any music with a worldly beat, among others. Jinger, along with three of her sisters, wrote a New York Times bestseller about their religious convictions. She believed this level of commitment would guarantee God's blessing, even though in private she felt constant fear that she wasn't measuring up to the high standards demanded of her. In Becoming Free Indeed, Jinger shares how in her early twenties, a new family member—a brother-in-law who didn't grow up in the same tight-knit conservative circle as Jinger—caused her to examine her beliefs. He was committed to the Bible, but he didn't believe many of the things Jinger had always assumed were true. His influence, along with the help of a pastor named Jeremy Vuolo, caused Jinger to see that her life was built on rules, not God's Word. Jinger committed to studying the Bible—truly understanding it—for the first time. What resulted was an earth-shaking realization: much of what she'd always believed about God, obedience to His Word, and personal holiness wasn't in-line with what the Bible teaches. Now with a renewed faith of personal conviction, Becoming Free Indeed shares what it was like living under the tenants of Bill Gothard, the Biblical truth that changed her perspective, and how she disentangled her faith with her belief in Jesus intact.
