The genealogy of the Frasure or Frazier family and those families related to them through the lineage of Micajah Frasher.
Micajah Frasher (or Frazier) was born 25 December 1753 in Albemarle Co. Virginia. He married Susannah Hamilton ca. 1774 in Staunton, Virginia. They were the parents of fourteen children. Micajah died 10 March 1859 in Pike Co., Kentucky. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio and elsewhere.
Jewel Corney Reid married Dolly Mae Harrison. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Scotland, England, Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, Tennessee and Missouri.
Louis DeFoy (fl. 1695-1696) immigrated from Poitou, France to Batiscan, Quebec and married widow Marie-Charlotte (Hebert/Charebert) Lesieur in 1696. Descendants and relatives lived in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Augustin DeFoy (1788-1890), a direct descendant, married Roseline Vezina in February 1827 at Quebec, Quebec. They immigrated to Burlington, Vermont, where they were married again in October 1827, using the names of Justin Fraser and Roseline DeFoi. Chiefly this record contains the lineage between Louis DeFoy and Augustin DeFoy/also known as/Justin Fraser. It also includes the French ancestry of DeFoy and other related families. Consequently most of the genealogical data contained in this record is in the province of Quebec, with much data in France, and only a little data in Vermont, New York and elsewhere.
John Frazier (1751-1832) was born in County Armagh, Ulster Province, Ireland. He married Margaret Anderson (1762-1843) in 1779. They had three children. John, Margaret and their youngest two children, immigrated to the United States, ca. 1810, to join their oldest son, James, who had immigrated to Virginia in 1800 on business. Descendants listed, chiefly descendants of their son, James Anderson Frazier (1780-1853), lived in Virginia, Illinois, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, California and elsewhere.

William Frazer, a descendant of the Scottish Highland Clan Fraser of Lovat, came to America in the 1720s, settling in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The “Frasers,” now known as “Frazers” continued their steadfast spirit in these new lands of America. The many lives of the Frazers in this writing descended from this one man and his wife Frances. Join us as we trace their footsteps through eight generations and numerous historical events.
