#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The groundbreaking account of life after death that has become a source of comfort, inspiration, and solace to millions “I felt a surge of energy, and my spirit was suddenly drawn through my chest and pulled upward. My first impression is that I was free. . . .” On the night of November 19, 1973, following surgery, thirty-one-year-old wife and mother Betty J. Eadie died. This is her extraordinary story of the events that followed, her astonishing proof of life after physical death. She saw more, perhaps than any other person has seen before and shares her almost photographic recollections of the remarkable details. Compelling, inspiring, and infinitely reassuring, her vivid account gives us a glimpse of the peace and unconditional love that awaits us all. More important, Betty's journey offers a simple message that can transform our lives today, showing us our purpose and guiding us to live the way we were meant to—joyously, abundantly, and with love. Praise for Embraced by the Light “The most detailed and spellbinding near-death experience I have ever heard.”—Kimberly Clark-Sharp, president, Seattle International Association of Near-Death Studies

This book is a happy response to the National News (Nightline's Ted Koppel, Oprah, etc.) incident at Jasper, TX a few years ago when a man was chained to, and dragged behind a truck. Featured are The Bowie-Bluitt Family of Jasper, TX, friends and neighbors of The Huff Creek subdivision. I am fortunate to have been exposed to this hard working family, standing as leaders in the community.Charged with a desire to share the stories of their community and the love of their collective hearts with the world, they are on a mission to reverse the adverse effects of the unforgettable James Byrd incident. Pulling together, they have started to bring the vibrant life back into this once self sustaining proud community. It is hoped that these seeds of exposure will yield a harvest of beneficial and changed perceptions. I thank the people featured in this book; allowing me to photograph and document their lives so that you see a glimpse of what they stand for. Exemplifying the best that community life has to offer, they use their time and love to help others. Thanks especially for your time, resources and information provided to put this book together. Being a recipient of your love and kindness, and watching you in action as you impart it on others has been an extraordinary delight. It is this creative energy that has enabled, and will continue to enable The Huff Creek community of Jasper, TX to be an institution to be reckoned with. Of course, none of this is possible without you, the reader. I hope that this book and the profiles it contains are inspirational to you in helping you find your way through life with a more positive outlook. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, saves those whose spirit is crushed.” (Ps 34:19) You might feel, in the days and weeks after a miscarriage, like the Lord is anything but close. Laura and Franco Fanucci understand. After struggling with infertility, they miscarried their third child in the first trimester. Later, their twin daughters were born prematurely and lived only a few days. Laura and Franco are here to tell you that, while your miscarriage is a deeply personal loss, you are not alone. Grieving Together is written by a couple specifically for couples, understanding that both spouses have experienced a loss and grieve differently. Drawing from Catholic tradition and teaching, Laura and Franco gently guide you through: The physical and emotional experiences of miscarriage — including help in making the hardest decisions How couples respond to grief — and how to support each other Turning to family, friends, and the Church — finding help and support from loved ones and your Church community The future after miscarriage — where to go from here as a couple Grieving Together is the book the Fanuccis had wished for after their miscarriage. Practical resources include Scripture, prayers, and official Catholic rites. It also speaks to the unique concerns of fathers, and includes many real-life stories from couples in many different circumstances. “We are fellow travelers on the road: parents who have suffered significant losses yet have grown in our marriage because of the gifts of our children’s lives.” — Laura and Franco Fanucci Click here to register for the related webcast
Environmental extremists harness previously unknown powers of Nature and rebel against the US Government. The story begins with a man who turns his ability to communicate with the Earth's spirits into a power that threatens to overturn American society. Angry over the abuse of nature he witnesses near his home, he discovers his anger originates from the outrage of the rivers and streams themselves. He hones this understanding of the waters in his native Great Lakes Basin into an ability to focus the waters' power on specific actions.
“The Mountains of Desire” is a greatly expanded retelling in prose and poetry of the ancient story of love and the sacred quest which comprises half the material in “The Seventh Song.” “The Mountains of Desire” incorporates new source material recently discovered in a remote mountain village. Two outcast children, the mysterious Tay Nee and Sikeemila, the girl who discovers the little boy alone and lost in a forest meadow, grow up in seclusion under the protection and guidance of Sanshee, an old warrior of renown who is Sikeemila’s grandfather. The childhood sweethearts grow up to become “Saluway” warrors devoted to one another in life and death and to the fulfillment of the quest of the sacred stone. To achieve the quest, Tay Nee, renamed Tesara, must traverse the desert of the heart and enter the fallen temple haunted by an evil spirit to recover the sacred stone, and the two warriors must then return the legendary stone to its original Tisou people, forced by invading barbarians to withdraw a thousand years ago into the fabled Mountains of Desire, from which no one has ever returned. Hunted by the murderous Vashiseema, fighting against amost impossible odds, the two warriors fall deeply in love on their embattled journey in the midst of many formidable difficulties and mortal struggles, as they seek to achieve the redemptive quest of the sacred stone.
