A new action fantasy set in a steampunk Tokyo from the creator of the smash hit Soul Eater! HIS BROTHER'S KEEPER Shinra has found Shō at last, and he's eager to rescue him from the clutches of the Evangelist. But Shō has no memory of his older brother, and refuses to accept the possibility that the two of them are related. Shinra's only choice is to beat Shō up and drag him home, but how can he defeat someone who has the power to stop time?
Takigi Oze, detective in the army's Criminal Investigation Division and brother to Company 8's own Maki, investigates a case that takes him into the Nether. When he almost doesn't make it out alive, his father--the general--decides it's time for the army to do something about the Evangelist. The general enlists the help of the Special Fire Force, but adds one more demand: Maki must return to the military.
Company 8 has joined forces with Company 2 on a large-scale investigation of the Nether, but their combined powers may not be enough. Before long, most of the fire soldiers in Company 2 are killed and brought back as Infernals by Ritsu and her Knights of the Purple Haze… What’s worse, the Evangelist’s minions move in on their ultimate goal: To wipe out the entire Tokyo Empire.
CALLING ALL HEROES AND ANGELS While investigating the mysteries of the Kusakabe family with Arrow, Shô makes an Adolla Link and encounters his mother, Mari, who has become an Infernal. What conclusions will Shô draw after learning the truth about his birth?! Meanwhile, an eighth pillar appears off the coast of Tama Bay. As the Empire despairs, the enormous figure of Raffles I descends upon the earth. The people fear divine retribution as Faerie blocks Shinra’s path. It’s time for Shinra to show what a hero can do!
THE GRAY OF HAIJIMA Now that Company 8 has learned that Haijima Industries is using children in an attempt to spark an Adolla Burst, Shinra is eager to put a stop to their heinous practices. To infiltrate their facilities, he agrees to let them study his own powers, and now he must face one of the ghosts of his childhood–the evil Kurono, a twisted pyrokinetic with enough power to rival the toughest soldier on the Fire Force.
KNIGHT VS. DEVIL Shinra has experienced another Adolla Link, but this time it has allowed a mysterious girl known as the “First Pillar” to take over his mind. He claims to have given up on being a hero and now wants nothing but revenge. Can Arthur bring Shinra back to his senses, or will the Knight King have to slay his old rival?
This military study examines the evolution of the Rhodesian armed services during the complex conflicts of the Cold War era. Through the 1960s and 1970s, Africa endured a series of conflicts involving Rhodesia, South Africa, and Portugal in conflict with the Frontline States. The Cold War brought outside influences, including American interest at the diplomatic, economic, and social level. In Fighting for Time, military historian Charles D. Melson sheds new light on this complex and consequential period through analysis of the Rhodesian military. Drawing on a wealth of primary sources, Melson examines the Rhodesian military’s evolution into a special operations force conducting intelligence-driven operations. Along the way, he identifies key lessons to be learned from this low-intensity conflict at the level of “tactics, techniques, and procedures.” Melson looks closely at the military response to the emerging revolutionary threat and the development of general and special-purpose units. He addresses the critical use of airpower as a force multiplier supporting civil, police, and army efforts ranging from internal security and border control to internal and external combat operations; the necessity of full-time joint command structures; and the escalation of cross-border attacks and unconventional responses as the conflict evolved.
Toc Walsh was conscripted into intake 138 Depot Rhodesia Regiment on 18 April 1974 and endured a year of what he deemed to be Ômilitary mayhemÕ. In July 1976, he was drafted again with the 10th Battalion Rhodesia Regiment to continue his wild ride into the maniacal world of combat. The country was in a state of national emergency and all available men were called up on continuous service. Mampara is a no-holds-barred look at one manÕs lived experience of war. The title of the book stems from the Shona word mampara that is said to originate from the slurred bark of the male Chacma baboon. The baboon indulges in alcohol-laden fermented fruit in an attempt to attain courage for difficult endeavors such as courting a female. In many ways, us as humans indulge in the same practice especially in times of intense stress or hardships. Young men experiencing the intense stresses of combat become, like the baboon, hungry for a way to cope.
