The novel DEADLY PARADISE tells about obsessive love, hatred and the power struggle between the wealthy and powerful Blue Creek Condominium president, Mr. Robert Howards, and the simple, but attractive, Russian immigrant caretaker, Nina. The book is set in a first class high-rise building in Pittsburgh, PA. It is the backdrop for the gripping and frantic story of Rob and Nina's relationship. Intertwined, as well, are the stories of the staff and residents who live in the building. The novel explores many human emotions as well as a variety of characters. The adventures in the narrative include: stories of immigrant life, a struggle with cancer, pure love as contrasted with horrible sadistic love, abuse and harassment. The main dramaturgic line is the deep psychological tragedy and sufferings of a tyrannical man, who was a dictator ruling the kingdom of slaves. Rob finds his only true love in a woman from another culture, a different social class and a completely opposite character. But she keeps him at arms length and unconsciously completely ruined his kingdom which everyone hates and scares. Nina doesn't rebel openly against the oppressive atmosphere, but seeks freedom and democracy in her own way, by living and enjoying her life and singing. She continues to be full of love for the whole world. In this way she wins people's affection and undermined Rob's power in the company. The story culminates when Rob shot Nina in the triumphal hour of her victory.
On January 15, 2000, the bruised body of thirty-four-year-old Lois McMillan, a Connecticut artist vacationing in the British Virgin Islands, was discovered draped across the rocks of an inlet where she had apparently drowned in the Caribbean waves. Local authorities on the little paradise of Tortola quickly confirmed that it was no accident. The police immediately found their suspects-four young, rich American tourists. Within twenty-four hours, the men were arrested for murder and went from a life of carefree luxury to cold jail cells. Each had an alibi. None of them had a motive. And there was no direct evidence linking any of them to Lois's death. Did authorities even have the right men? Was it a rush to judgment-a desperate attempt to save Tortola's reputation for peace and safety-or were these men hiding a terrible crime. A twisting tale of swift island justice that was just beginning. So was the intricate puzzle of the lives of the four men in question, and the truth of what really happened during Lois McMillen's tragic final hours.
(previously published as The Turtan Trilogy) Now in one volume, the first three books of John B. Rosenman's Inspector of the Cross series. The Cen, a cruel alien race, has attacked humanity and only one man can save it. Turtan, an Inspector of the Cross Empire, travels in suspended animation to distant worlds in search of a weapon or device that can defeat the enemy and end the brutal five-thousand-year war. Because he travels in frozen sleep, this elite agent is technically four thousand years old and has outlived many lovers and generations of his children. It is a painful and terrible burden, but duty comes first and always he must move on. His mission is rendered even more difficult by his own leaders who sometimes oppose his selfless quest to save humanity.
The adventures of Turtan continue as he adjusts to his alien bride and struggles to save the human race. He has finally found a device that the Cross can use to defeat the seemingly invincible alien Cen and end their five-thousand-year war. The question is, will his own side let him use it?
