The conference was a new special topic conference and a common initiative by the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE- EMBS). BHI2015 was held in Haikou, China, 8-10 October 2015. The main theme of the BHI2015 is “The Convergence: Integrating Information and Communication Technologies with Biomedicine for Global Health”. The ICBHI2015 proceedings examine enabling technologies of sensors, devices and systems that optimize the acquisition, transmission, processing, storage, retrieval, use of biomedical and health information as well as to report novel clinical applications of health information systems and the deployment of m-Health, e-Health, u-Health, p-Health and Telemedicine.
Sensor networks have many interesting applications with great utility; however, their actually deployment and realization rely on continuous innovations and solutions to many challenging problems. Thus, sensor networks have recently attracted the attention of many researchers and practitioners. The compilation of the Handbook on Sensor Networks will meet the demand of the sensor network community for a comprehensive reference and summary of the current state of the area. The Handbook on Sensor Networks is a collection of approximately 40 chapters on sensor network theory and applications. The book spans a wide spectrum and includes topics in medium access control, routing, security and privacy, coverage and connectivity, modeling and simulations, multimedia, energy efficiency, localization and tracking, design and implementation, as well as sensor network applications.
ALGOSENSORS, the International International Workshop on Algorithmic - pectsofWirelessSensorNetworks, isanannualforumforpresentationofresearch on all algorithmic aspects of sensor networks, including the theory, design, an- ysis, implementation, and application of algorithms for sensor networks. The 5th edition of ALGOSENSORS was held during July 10-11, 2009, on Rhodes, Greece. There were 41 extended abstracts submitted to ALGOSENSORS this year, and this volume contains the 21 contributions selected by the Program C- mittee. All submitted papers were read and evaluated by at least three Program Committeemembers, assistedbyexternalreviewers. The?naldecisionregarding every paper was taken following an electronic discussion. The proceedings also include two two-page-long Brief Announcements (BA). TheseBAsarepresentationsofongoingworksforwhichfullpapersarenotready yet, or of recent results whose full description will soon be presented or has been recently presented in other conferences. Researchers use the BA track to quickly draw the attention of the community to their experiences, insights and results from ongoing distributed computing research and projects. The International Conference on Communications, Management, and Information Technology (ICCMIT’16) provides a discussion forum for scientists, engineers, educators and students about the latest discoveries and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications of systems inspired on nature, using computational intelligence methodologies, as well as in emerging areas related to the three tracks of the conference: Communication Engineering, Knowledge, and Information Technology. The best 25 papers to be included in the book will be carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions, then revised and expanded to provide deeper insight into trends shaping future ICT.
Although comprehensive knowledge of cyber-physical systems (CPS) is becoming a must for researchers, practitioners, system designers, policy makers, system managers, and administrators, there has been a need for a comprehensive and up-to-date source of research and information on cyber-physical systems. This book fills that need.Cyber-Physical Syst
Communication, Management and Information Technology contains the contributions presented at the International Conference on Communication, Management and Information Technology (ICCMIT 2016, Cosenza, Italy, 26-29 April 2016, organized by the Universal Society of Applied Research (USAR). The book aims at researchers, scientists, engineers, and scholar students interested or involved in Computer Science and Systems, Communication, and Management.
These are the proceedings of the 8th International Workshop on Cooperative Information Agents (CIA 2004), held at the Fair and Congress Center in - furt, Germany, September 27–29, 2004. It was part of the multi-conference Net. ObjectDays 2004, and, in particular, was co-located with the 2nd German Conference on Multiagent Systems Technologies (MATES 2004). In today’s networked world of linked heterogeneous, pervasive computer systems, devices, and information landscapes, the intelligent coordination and provision of relevant added-value information at any time, anywhere, by means of cooperative information agents becomes increasingly important for a variety of applications. An information agent is a computational software entity that has access to one or multiple, heterogeneous, and geographically dispersed data and information sources. It proactively searches for and maintains information on behalf of its human users, or other agents, preferably just in time. In other words, itismanagingandovercomingthedi?cultiesassociatedwithinformation overload in open, pervasive information and service landscapes. Cooperative - formation agents may collaborate with each other to accomplish both individual and shared joint goals depending on the actual preferences of their users, b- getary constraints, and resources available. One major challenge of developing agent-based intelligent information systems in open environments is to balance the autonomy of networked data, information, and knowledge sources with the potential payo? of leveraging them using information agents.
