William H. Wilson (1783-1863) was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He and his wife, Jane McCampbell and their eight children migrated to Mingo, Randolph Co. (now Mingo, West Virginia), Virginia in 1829. William married Jane McCampbell (1790-1850), daughter of John McCampbell, in 1811. They were parents of eleven children. Descendants live in Kansas, Virginia, West Virginia, Oklahoma, California, Missouri, Arkansas, Utah and elsewhere.
