The lake is the most important resource for a wide variety of recreational uses. Access to Bighorn Canyon National Recreational Area is 'by State and county highway. Recreation headquarters is in Fort Smith, Montana, and can 'be reached 'by Montana Highway 313. Wyoming State Highway 37 provides access to the southern Horseshoe Bend development from u.s.
