Massive armies are poised to invade the three main countries of the mainland. The Khadorans, Sakovans, and Fakarans are badly outnumbered as a thousand huge warships set sail from the Island of Darkness to exterminate all life on the mainland. Led by an ageless mage, the forces of evil appeared assured of success. The Torak, the Star of Sakova, and the Astor rally their forces to meet the onslaught and preserve humanity, but can their outnumbered forces stave off the murderous rampage that is about to descend upon them? Army of the dead is the exciting conclusion to the epic fantasy series, Forgotten legacy by Richard S. Tuttle.
In ancient days, the mightiest of dragons were fearless in battle against the foes of Kaltara. Those special dragons were called Winged Warriors, and they were revered by the elves. In Winged Warrior, the Torak meets a Winged Warrior and learns that she is to become his battlesteed. The Time of Cleansing fast approaches as the Motangans plant a spy deep within the ruling circle of the Sakovans. The mage-spy Aakuta is discovered on the Island of Darkness and condemned to death, while rebellious Khadoran lords conspire to overthrow Emperor Marak. The elven nation is beset by plotting from antiwar factions, while the Jiadin of Fakara threaten to abandon their defensive positions. With the whole world on the brink of a war where there will be no surrenders, no prisoners, and no negotiations, Vand's minions sow the seeds of destruction as they prepare to launch the invasion that will destroy all life.
Lord Marak tries to gain support from the lords of Khadora as the Jiadin invasion begins. Complicating the situation is the arrival of a male mage, something unheard of in Khadora.
The Remora has sunk, and there is no way for the Alceans to return home before war breaks out. Stranded in the land of their enemy, seventeen Alceans set out to bring a quarter of a million enemy soldiers to their knees. Alexander Tork poses as Garth Shado, a special agent for a wealthy Tyronian merchant. To plot the destruction of his enemy, he makes alliances with all of the enemies of the Federation, but the real task will be in pulling the coalition together and coordinating the diverse forces under his command. Time is short and many of his new allies balk at Garth's efforts to create a Council of War. The fate of Alcea rests with the ability of the small group of Alceans to inflict damage on the Federation and obtain information on the attack plans of the enemy. Only a Council of War can ease the flow of soldiers set to attack Alcea.
Star of Sakova, the second volume of the Forgotten Legacy, features Lyra, the only daughter of Master Malafar, owner and master of the Omunga Academy of Magic. A devastating and seemingly senseless attack on the Omunga Academy of Magic leaves Lyra running for her life. Her father, Master Malafar, was kidnapped and her mother was killed during the attack. Her mother’s cryptic dying words propel Lyra on a journey across the breadth of the country in search of her Uncle Temiker. The raiders of the Academy however have other plans for Lyra as they doggedly pursue her. Trying to stay one step ahead of the raiders, Lyra finds out that the Imperial government wants her head for the very slaughter she narrowly escaped. With the raiders in pursuit and Imperial troops blocking the roads ahead, Lyra has no chance of survival unless she enters the dreaded Sakova, a land of nightmares. The Sakova, long known as a place of no return, is home to cannibals, ferocious beasts, and strange magic. The fast pace of her flight leaves Lyra little time to solve the mysteries of the attack, but the questions of why anyone would kidnap her father, or slaughter dozens of innocents to accomplish it, linger as a gnawing distraction. Discover a world of swords and magic, political intrigue and deceit, and cunning, ruthless people who seek to finish the annihilation of a society that began ages ago.
Ages ago the continent was invaded by massive armies intent on creating a new home for themselves. The peaceful indigenous peoples fled before the marauding hordes and hid defiantly in the mountain peaks awaiting a signal from god. They learned the arts of magic and warfare as they hid from the intruders, who divided the land amongst themselves and set up a civilization where the many toil and slave for the elite few. The Forgotten Legacy series begins with Young Lord of Khadora as Marak, a young soldier in the service of one of the clans of Khadora is chosen as a sacrifice for the benefit of his lord. Marak is sent on a fool’s mission to defeat one of the small bands of indigenous people known as the Chula, a race of dreaded cat-people. Marak, however, is not your normal clan soldier. His mother is a mage slave to the clan lord and his father is unknown, presumed dead. What makes Marak different though, is his abhorrence for Khadoran culture, a society that feeds on the helpless and victimizes all but the most wealthy and powerful. Refusing to accept his given role in life, Marak sets out to change the very fabric of society. The young soldier has a brilliant military mind and warrior skills that so far have not been bested, but his real weapons are the resources that Khadoran society discards. In Khadora mages are typically slaves who tend the fields, often thought of as little more than farm implements. The average Khadoran soldier is taught to follow orders and not think. The workers on the clan estates are treated barely better than the slaves. Marak intends to use a secret weapon to not only accomplish the futile mission he is sent on, but to start a reform of the entire society. His weapon is compassion and it is an emotion that has long been dead in Khadora. It is a fine edge that Marak must walk to stay alive. While not knowing how a populace will react to his endeavors, Marak has little doubt what the reactions of the clan lords will be. Marak will have to defend himself against rival clan lords fearful of his efforts, the dreaded cat-people who hate all Khadorans, and even his own clan to whom he owes his very life and allegiance.
Just as peace between Omunga and Sakova appears to be a certainty, an evil mage steals the body of the newly chosen Katana, leader of the Omungan people. As the new Katana plots the destruction of the Sakova, a strange mystical disease ravages the country producing widespread famine. Both countries stand poised to annihilate each other, but the Star of Sakova fears a greater threat, which is brewing unseen across the ocean. To confront that new threat, she must preserve the armies of her Omungan enemy. Against all odds, she embarks upon a path towards a peaceful solution to the war, a path that could likely imperil the very existence of her own people. Meanwhile, two young orphans discover that they are sisters and set out from the Sakova on an ocean voyage to discovery their roots. What they discover is enough to terrorize both the Omungans and the Sakovans, if the young sisters manage to escape the Island of Darkness to tell their story.
Fakara is a desolate wasteland where law and order are foreign words. The land is ruled by tribes of ruthless bandits who exact tribute from the poor villagers. Web of Deceit tells the story of Rejji, a boy turning into a man, as his family and village are destroyed. With nowhere to turn, Rejji sets off with a young female thief in search of the Sage of the Mountain. Unknown to Rejji is the fact that he is the long-awaited prophetic figure of a Forgotten Legacy. Follow the trials of Rejji as he is chased by armies of bandits, evil magicians, and slavers. Friends are few along his journey, and even those few are suspect.
The Castle of Man, a huge towering castle that straddles an important mountain pass to the north of Tagaret, is besieged by ogres, goblins, yakis, and dark sorcerers. If it falls, the armies of the Dark One will descend on Tagaret to end the Ancient Prophecy. Far to the south of Tagaret, Emperor Hanchi and his hundred-thousand man army is moving northward, destroying everything in its path. Caught in the middle are King Arik and his Alceans. As King Arik struggles to find the Dragons' Onyx and restore it to the Sword of Heavens, his small band of heroes must battle against these two huge armies to save Tagaret from destruction. Meanwhile, Master Khatama is gathering a mysterious group of master magicians that appears bent on threatening the Ancient Prophecy. The stakes in the war of good versus evil have never been higher. The fate of the world rests in the hands of a small group of warriors known as the Knights of Alcea.
