John Ellis, son of Samuel Ellis and Barbara Blanchard, was born 6 September 1798. He married Susan Ann Ford (1797-1869), daughter of Abner Ford. They had ten children, all born in Mayfield, Maine. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maine, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oregon and Washington. Includes Carothers, Millar, Wright and related families.
History of the Ellis family using newspaper articles, birth, death and marriage records, war records, and letters.
Edward Ellis emigrated from England or Wales to Virginia in 1636 or earlier, and settled in Surry County, Va. He evidently died about 1670 and definitely before 1671.
This is a genealogical book describing a vast number of descendants from the Ellis family. It chronicles several generations, going back all the way to the 1700s. It is a wonderful reference of family history.
