These proceedings represent the work of contributors to the 3rd European Conference on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (ECIAIR 2021), hosted by ACI and Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal on 18-19 November 2021. The Conference Chair is Prof Florinda Matos, and the Programme Chairs are Prof Isabel Salavisa and Prof Carlos Serrão, all from Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal ECIAIR is now a well-established event on the academic research calendar and now, in its 3rd year, the key aim remains in the opportunity for participants to share ideas and meet people who hold them. The conference was due to be held at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal, but because of the global Covid-19 pandemic, it was moved online as a virtual event. The subjects covered in the papers illustrate the wide range of topics that fall into this important and ever-growing area of research. The opening keynote presentation is given by Prof Luis Paulo Reis, from University of Porto, Portugal, on the topic of "Ethical, Explainable and Configurable Artificial Intelligence". The second day of the conference will be open by Prof Jean-Gabriel Ganascia, Sorbonne University, Paris, France, who will talk about "Justice, Fairness and AI"., With an initial submission of 57 abstracts, after the double blind, peer review process there are 25 academic research papers, 3 Masters' research papers, 1 non-academic paper and 2 work-in-progress papers published in these Conference Proceedings. These papers represent research from Brazil, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA.
This handbook focuses on new threats to psychological security that are posed by the malicious use of AI and how it can be used to counteract such threats. Studies on the malicious use of AI through deepfakes, agenda setting, sentiment analysis and affective computing and so forth, provide a visual representation of the various forms and methods of malicious influence on the human psyche, and through this on the political, economic, cultural processes, the activities of state and non-state institutions. Separate chapters examine the malicious use of AI in geopolitical confrontation, political campaigns, strategic deception, damage to corporate reputation, and activities of extremist and terrorist organizations. This is a unique volume that brings together a multidisciplinary range of established scholars and upcoming new researchers from 11 countries. This handbook is an invaluable resource for students, researchers, and professionals interested in this new and developing field of social practice and knowledge.
The two-volume set LNAI 14115 and 14116 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 22nd EPIA Conference on Progress in Artificial Intelligence, EPIA 2023, held in Faial Island, Azores, in September 2023. The 85 full papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 163 submissions. The papers have been organized in the following topical sections: ambient intelligence and affective environments; ethics and responsibility in artificial intelligence; general artificial intelligence; intelligent robotics; knowledge discovery and business intelligence; multi-agent systems: theory and applications; natural language processing, text mining and applications; planning, scheduling and decision-making in AI; social simulation and modelling; artifical intelligence, generation and creativity; artificial intelligence and law; artificial intelligence in power and energy systems; artificial intelligence in medicine; artificial intelligence and IoT in agriculture; artificial intelligence in transportation systems; artificial intelligence in smart computing; artificial intelligence for industry and societies.
This double volume book set constitutes the refereed proceedings of 4th International Conference, AI-HCI 2023, held as part of the 25th International Conference, HCI International 2023, which was held virtually in Copenhagen, Denmark in July 2023. The total of 1578 papers and 396 posters included in the HCII 2023 proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 7472 submissions. The first volume focuses on topics related to Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, explainability, transparency and trustworthiness, ethics and fairness, as well as AI-supported user experience design. The second volume focuses on topics related to AI for language, text, and speech-related tasks, human-AI collaboration, AI for decision-support and perception analysis, and innovations in AI-enabled systems.
This book gathers outstanding research papers presented at the International Conference on Intelligent Vision and Computing (ICIVC 2021), held online during October 03–04, 2021. ICIVC 2021 is organised by Sur University, Oman. The book presents novel contributions in intelligent vision and computing and serves as reference material for beginners and advanced research. The topics covered are intelligent systems, intelligent data analytics and computing, intelligent vision and applications collective intelligence, soft computing, optimization, cloud computing, machine learning, intelligent software, robotics, data science, data security, big data analytics, and signal natural language processing.
This cutting-edge Handbook offers a comprehensive introduction to the emerging research field of artificial intelligence (AI) in human resource management (HRM). Broadly mapping AI fields relevant for HR, it not only considers the more well-known areas of machine learning and natural language processing, but also lesser-known fields such as affective computing and robotic process automation.
