The Illustrated Compendium of Weirdly Specific Words is an illustrated dictionary of the 300+ most specific words in the English language, along with their definitions, roots, and (hilarious) usage quotes! Have you ever been lying in your bed, surrounded by crumbs and wrappers, feasting on your fifth pop tart and thought, “I wish there was a word for this”? Well, there is! Accubationis - the practice of eating and drinking while lying down. The English language is populated by many words that have a regular place in everyday conversation, and The Illustrated Compendium of Weirdly Specific Words celebrates these words by featuring definitions, origins and usage, and coupling illustrations. Words include: Badling (noun) - a group of ducks. Crapulence (noun) - sickness resulting from eating too much. Guddle (verb) - fishing only with your hands. Kaiju (noun) - A film genre characterized by giant, terrifying monsters. Slugabed (noun) - A lazy person who stays in bed late. Wegotism (noun) - The excessive use of the word ‘we’. With more than 300 insanely specific words, you’d think that you would know a few of them, right? Well, think again! We’re willing to wager that you don’t know a single one of these words! Unless, of course, you have a special interest in the smell of horse urine (the word for that particular odor is jumentuous). The Illustrated Compendium of Weirdly Specific Words not only captures these words through equally specific illustrations, it also tells you what they mean! And like so many great reference books before it, it is organized in alphabetical order, from aglet to zopissa. Readers will close this book a little bit smarter than they were when they picked it up!
Chapter 1: Unmasking the Eccedentesiast In the vast landscape of human emotions, the smile often stands as an emblem of joy, happiness, and contentment. However, hidden behind the façade of many smiles lies a complex and intricate world of pain, sorrow, and unspoken struggles. This chapter delves into the concept of the eccedentesiast, exploring the reasons why individuals choose to conceal their pain behind a cheerful demeanor. We examine the societal expectations, personal reasons, and psychological mechanisms that drive people to become eccedentesiasts. Chapter 2: The Art of Concealing The act of concealing pain behind a smile is an art that requires finesse and skill. In this chapter, we explore the various techniques employed by eccedentesiasts to maintain their façade. From mastering the art of deflecting personal questions to developing a convincing laugh, we unravel the layers of deception that characterize the lives of those who hide their pain behind a smile. Through personal stories and psychological insights, we gain a deeper understanding of the coping mechanisms at play. Chapter 3: The Social Pressures of Perfection Society often places immense pressure on individuals to conform to an idealized version of happiness and success. This chapter examines the impact of societal expectations on the development of eccedentesiasts. We explore how the fear of judgment and rejection propels individuals to maintain a cheerful exterior while grappling with internal turmoil. Interviews with psychologists, sociologists, and individuals who have experienced this phenomenon shed light on the pervasive influence of societal pressures. Chapter 4: The Toll on Mental Health Behind the smiles lies a hidden toll on mental health. This chapter delves into the consequences of long-term emotional suppression and the toll it takes on the mental well-being of eccedentesiasts. From the heightened risk of anxiety and depression to the potential development of more severe mental health disorders, we examine the implications of concealing pain and the importance of seeking help. Personal narratives and expert opinions provide valuable insights into the delicate balance between maintaining a façade and safeguarding mental health. Chapter 5: Breaking the Chains of Eccedentesia Recovery and self-discovery are possible for those who hide their pain behind a smile. This chapter explores the journey of breaking free from the chains of eccedentesia. Through therapy, support networks, and embracing vulnerability, individuals can learn to navigate their pain authentically. Real-life success stories and expert advice guide readers on the path towards healing and self-acceptance. Chapter 6: Empathy and Understanding In the final chapter, we reflect on the importance of empathy and understanding in dismantling the culture of eccedentesia. By fostering open conversations about mental health, reducing stigma, and creating supportive environments, we can collectively work towards a society that encourages authenticity and vulnerability. The chapter concludes with a call to action, urging readers to become advocates for mental health and to cultivate compassion for those who may be hiding their pain behind a smile.

Imagine being a young girl, going through so many struggles of life and the people around you, though they can hear you crying, they aren't actually listening to your pain. The weight of these struggles now become so heavy that you have to let it out. As a young girl, the writer found her gift in writing by just venting her thoughts on paper. It seemed easier to whisper to a blank page through ink than it it was to talk to people who never took the time to listen. By doing this, the writer wrote many different poems of emotions. These are only a few of the poetic works of Floretta Hector.
This collection is a continuation of Eccedentesiast, adding on to previous passages, or creating new ones.
