In the summer of 1956, John McCarthy organized the famous Dartmouth Conference which is now commonly viewed as the founding event for the field of Artificial Intelligence. During the last 50 years, AI has seen a tremendous development and is now a well-established scientific discipline all over the world. Also in Europe AI is in excellent shape, as witnessed by the large number of high quality papers in this publication. In comparison with ECAI 2004, there’s a strong increase in the relative number of submissions from Distributed AI / Agents and Cognitive Modelling. Knowledge Representation & Reasoning is traditionally strong in Europe and remains the biggest area of ECAI-06. One reason the figures for Case-Based Reasoning are rather low is that much of the high quality work in this area has found its way into prestigious applications and is thus represented under the heading of PAIS.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Conceptual Structures, ICCS 2005, held in Kassel, Germany, in July 2005. The 23 revised full papers presented together with 9 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 66 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on theoretical foundations, knowledge engineering and tools, and knowledge acquisition and ontologies.

Artificial Intelligence continues to be one of the most exciting and fast-developing fields of computer science. This book presents the 177 long papers and 123 short papers accepted for ECAI 2016, the latest edition of the biennial European Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Europe’s premier venue for presenting scientific results in AI. The conference was held in The Hague, the Netherlands, from August 29 to September 2, 2016. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2005, held in Galway, Ireland, in November 2005. The 54 revised full academic papers and 17 revised industrial papers presented together with abstracts of 3 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 217 submitted papers to the academic track and 30 to the industrial track. The research papers address all current issues in the field of the semantic Web, ranging from theoretical aspects to various applications.
