Excerpt from Dreer's 1907 Garden Book This new Lettuce is accurately shown on colored plate oppo site. It is a new variety from Germany, where it is a great ta vorite. It is very early, and being hardy will stand considerable cold, damp weather. It can be planted out of doors or under glass, and in either case will produce fine, solid heads much sooner than any other variety.
