The Advanced Planner and Optimiser (APO) is the software from SAP dedicated to supply chain management. This book addresses the question of how to implement APO in a company. Algebraic number fields, particularly of small degree n, have been treated in detail in several publications during the last years. The subject that has been investigated the most is the computation of lists of number fields K with field discriminant d(K) less than or equal to a given bound D and the computation of the minimal value of the discriminant for a given degree n (and often also signature (r1, r2)) of the number fields. The distinct cases of different degrees, as well as the different numbers of real and complex embeddings, respectively, are usually treated independently of each other since each case itself offers a broad set of problems and questions. In some of the cases the applied methods and algorithms have been notably improved over the years. Each value for the degree n of the investigated fields represents a huge and interesting set of problems and questions that can be treated on its own. The case we will concentrate on in this thesis is n = 3. Algebraic number fields of degree 3 are often referred to as cubic fields and, in a way, their investigation is easier than the investigation of higher degree fields since the higher the degree of the field, the higher the number of possible signatures (i.e. combinations of real and complex embeddings of the field). In this thesis, we will concentrate only on totally real cubic fields. Totally real fields are those fields K for which each embedding of K into the complex numbers C has an image that lies inside the real numbers R. The purpose of this thesis is to show that the number of isomorphism classes of cubic fields K whose second successive minima M2(K), as introduced by Minkowski, are less than or equal to a given bound X is asymptotically equal (in X) to the number of cubic polynomials defining these fields modulo a relation P which will be explained in detail.

Information theory and cybernetics have developed along somewhat different lines in Europe and in the U. S. A. This book is to be seen as a contribution towards bridging the gap. Anyone who seeks to apply information theory in the fields of education and psychology very soon comes up against a central diffi culty: in the form in which it was developed by Shannon information theory excludes the semantic aspect. This problem is fundamental for in education, as in psychology, the semantic aspect is the very heart of the matter. Thus, while Attneave, Miller and Quastler, among others, successfully employed the concepts and units of measurement of in formation theory in the interpretation of the findings of experimental psychology, they were obliged to restrict their work to its syntactic and statistical aspects. Before we can make use of the methods and results of information we have to solve the central problem: How can theory in actual teaching, we measure the semantic information of a verbal message? The only way to do this is by extending the theory. A special concept has been deve loped for this purpose: subjective information. In place of an objectively measurable quantity (frequency of sign sequences) we set an empirically determined one: the subjective probability with which the recipient expects a certain sign sequence.

This book contains the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Business Process Modeling, Development and Support, BPMDS 2015, and the 20th International Conference on Exploring Modeling Methods for Systems Analysis and Design, EMMSAD 2015, held together with the 27th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE 2015) in Stockholm, Sweden, in June 2015. The 17 full papers accepted for BPMDS were selected from 43 submissions and cover a wide spectrum of issues related to business process development, modeling, and support. They are grouped into topical sections on enabling value creation, human-centric paradigms, mining for processes, declarative approaches, understanding and sharing, quality and security issues, and new areas for BPMDS. The 12 full and three short papers accepted for EMMSAD were chosen from 33 submissions and focus on exploring, evaluating, and enhancing modeling methods and methodologies for the analysis and design of information systems, enterprises, and business processes. They are grouped into topical sections on fundamental issues in modeling, requirements and regulations, enterprise and software ecosystem modeling, information and process model quality, meta-modeling and domain-specific modeling and model composition, modeling of architecture and design, and novel applications of modeling.
