Kay and Danny are faithfully serving God as missionaries in Guatemala. While Danny is out clearing ground for an airplane landing strip, Kay is asked to make an urgent medical visit upriver in the jungle. On the way back to the mission station, Kay shows signs of heatstroke, and Danny and Kay must return to Minnesota for Kay's recovery. While in Minnesota, Kay receives bad news from the doctor that doesn’t make sense. Even though she feels fine, she's told that she shouldn’t return to Guatemala. Why would God allow this to happen when they are so needed in Guatemala?
Triplets Del, Doug, and DeeDee are orphaned missionary kids. Rejected by their aunt and uncle in Texas who were offended by the triplets’ faith in Jesus, the kids have now found a permanent home with Danny and Kay Orlis. The triplets have a place to live but still have many things to figure out. As they are growing up, they realize that although they look alike, they have unique talents and abilities. Doug finds his skill on the basketball court, but a fawn discovered during a walk in the woods reveals one of the exceptional talents God gave Del.
Del and Doug Davis are getting settled in their new school in Colorado – trying out for sports, falling for girls, and meeting new people. But someone in the school is selling drugs, and word is going around that Del and Doug are the guilty ones. Their good reputation helps them some, but when the pressure gets intense, Del and Doug work together to find out who is really to blame.
Ron and Darlene Orlis are serving at the mission station near High Rock in Canada. The Indigenous people who live there do not want Ron and Darlene there. One of them, Guy Ferebee, tells them to leave. Ron and Darlene try to find a way to stay and share the Gospel but fail. To complicate matters, a forest fire rages nearby. What can they do? Sadly, they make arrangements to fly out of there and pack up their belongings. Why did God bring them there only to have them leave before anyone accepted Jesus as their Savior? What happens next is totally unexpected.
Del, Doug, and DeeDee Davis and their cousins Phil and Marie head up to the Northwest Angle to spend part of the summer at their Uncle Carl’s fishing camp. But there are so many strange things going on at the camp that the kids don’t know which mystery to solve first. Police investigations, middle-of-the-night baseball games, bank robbers, and a kidnapping make this a high-action and inspiring read!
Robin Evans and Tom Channing are part of a group of teens spending a few days of Christmas break at a ski resort where Danny Orlis challenges the group to consider missions. While recovering from skiing injuries, Robin and Tom begin to feel called to serve God in some kind of Christian service, but their parents are opposed to them leaving the US. After Robin leads a friend to Jesus, she is more convinced than ever of her call and struggles to know the right thing to do.
Their parents tragically passed away, and custody of the Davis triplets, DeeDee, Doug, and Del, was awarded to their Aunt Carmen and Uncle Clarence, who live on the Circle R Ranch in Texas. The triplets love the place and have even been given their own horses. But, sadly, their aunt and uncle want nothing to do with religion, and the triplets need to make some of the biggest decisions of their lives. Things ratchet up quickly when an innocent trail ride to explore an abandoned house results in a spooked horse and a fallen rider. The best bet seems to be to take cover in the spooky old house until help arrives. In the meantime, Phil turns to Christ in their time of need – a decision that has significant consequences for him and the triplets.
Danny Orlis is struggling with a commitment he made to God: to follow Him wherever He led. Would God really call him somewhere he didn’t want to go? When his relationship with his girlfriend, Kay, crumbles because of his indecision, Danny strays even further from God – until a lonely boy from a broken home runs away on a cold, winter night, and helps lead Danny back into the will of God.
