El propósito central de este trabajo, asumido por el grupo de investigación Culturas corporativas y perdurabilidad organizacional del Centro de Gestión Humana y Organizaciones, de la Facultad de Administración de Empresas de la Universidad Externado de Colombia, pretende dar inicio al estudio de la importancia que tiene la cultura organizacional en la competitividad de las empresas y en la supervivencia y perdurabilidad de las mismas.
El libro se centra en el analisis de la cultura organizacional como elemento importante en la busqueda de perdurabilidad por parte de las organizaciones en tiempos de cambio y transformaciones economicas, politicas y sociales, que modifican las posibilidades empresariales, las apuestas y los retos gerenciales, los tipos de vinculacion laboral, las formas de organizar el trabajo, los requerimientos establecidos a los trabajadores y los modos de interaccion dados entre las empresas y los sujetos con profundos efectos tanto en las construcciones de sentido como en la constitucion de identidades y subjetividades. Apreciar diferentes concepciones y perspectivas de analisis de estudio de la cultura organizacional implica reconocer las interrelaciones que esta tiene con la estrategia, la estructura, el aprendizaje, el cambio organizacional y la gestion humana, en donde el trabajo, el sujeto trabajador en su condicion humana y las organizaciones, son miradas de manera transdisciplinar y desde unas particularidades en las que coexisten y se entrecruzan diversas intencionalidades, intereses, interpretaciones, proyectos, conflictos y logicas.

Turning conventional wisdom on its head, a Senior Partner and an Innovation Specialist from McKinsey & Company debunk the myth that high-octane, built-to-last companies can continue to excel year after year and reveal the dynamic strategies of discontinuity and creative destruction these corporations must adopt in order to maintain excellence and remain competitive.
