Johannes Kesseler was born 2 July 1686 in Germany. He is first found in the records of Mohawk Valley, New York in 1711. He is believed to be the son of Hans Jacob Kesseler and Magdalene Eickerts of Ewersbach, Germany. He married Anna Maria Margretha Laux. They had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. Also includes several other unrelated early Kessler/Casler families who settled in the Mohawk Valley.
