Beekeeping/apiculture is the maintenance of honey bee colonies in beehives. Beekeepers keep honey bees to collect honey and other bee products like beeswax, propolis,pollen,royal jelly, bee venom,pollination of crops, raising queens and other sources of beekeeping income. Bee hives are kept in an apiary or bee yard. Bees play a vital role in the natural and agricultural ecosystems. The person who maintains the beehives is known as an apiarist or a beekeeper.
