Duchenne (de Boulogne), une de nos grandes illustrations medicales, etait des plus assidus. Trousseau discutait les cas les plus dissemblables avec une egale competence. Qu'il abordat les questions de patho logie generale, de therapeutique ou de clinique, on sentait qu'il etait partout sur son terrain. Ses causeries familieres au lit du malade avaient un charme inexprimable. Ses su perbes lecons a l'amphitheatre etaient nourries, docu mentees, longuement preparees, et representaient une somme de labeur considerable; la precision dans les idees, la clarte dans l'exposition, voila l'eloquence de bon aloi, l'eloquence scientifique qui presidait a l'enseignement de Trousseau.
