This publication contains 17 regional gravity and 17 magnetic maps of northern Alberta that highlight subtle potential-field lineaments & anomaly fabrics that could be related to faults. Each map is accompanied by an annotation that explains the data processing methods employed and suggests practical uses of the map for geological interpretation. The introductory section includes background on the geological meaning of geophysical anomalies, details of the data sources used to make the maps, and information on the data processing & lineament detection methods employed.

This volume covers major advances in the study of the geomorphology, hydrology, engineering geology and management of these specialized and fragile environments. The book will be valuable for geologists, engineers and geophysicists interested in karst, along with land planners, developers, and managers of show caves, natural parks and reserves in karst areas.
The subjects of the papers that make up the volume vary from the preparation of national maps to examples of the many uses of regional maps. The anomalities that are discussed range in areal dimension from hundreds of kilometers to tons of meters. The majority of the papers illustrate the utility of the maps in mapping structures and lithologic variations wirhin the continenetal crust, the configuration of the crystalline basements rocks, zones of crustal weakness, distribution of extrusive and intrusive igneous rocks and the geometry of sedimentary basins. Most cases are drawn from the United States and Canada, but examples from Europe, Africa, South America and Asia are included.
Carbonate reservoirs contain an increasingly important percentage of the worlds hydrocarbon reserves. This volume presents key recent advances in carbonate exploration and reservoir analysis.
