This directory of 16mm film libraries has been compiled in order to help teachers, school administrators, and community leaders locate and obtain motion pictures for use in education. It is a revision and expansion of the 1948 Office of Education publication, "A Partial List of 16mm Film Libraries," which contained 576 libraries. The directory is limited to the United States, and includes only film libraries--institutions and organizations which loan or rent films--and only those which agreed to inclusion. It does not include sales outlets. The 16mm film libraries in this directory include all kinds of film distributors--commercial visual education dealers, educational film producers, colleges and universities, city and State school systems, industrial companies and trade associations, religious institutions, and Government agencies--and each distributor handles different kinds of 16mm films. The libraries in the directory are grouped by States and cities, with city postal zones noted in parentheses. [Best copy available has been provided.].
