"The objective of this workshop was to review the historical shoreline changes at Cape Hatteras and to relate these changes to both natural and manmade factors. Based upon the aerial photographs used in this study, it is clear that although short periods of accretion have occurred, there is a dominant pattern of long-term erosion. The most significant periods of accretion are associated with the construction of the goin field and the three beach nourishment projects.
