Michael Katz/Catts, Jr. (b.1720) was the son of Michael Katz/Catts, Sr. They emigrated to the colonies from the Palatinate on the ship "Snow Fox" in 1738 and landed at the Port of Philadelphia. Michael, Jr. married Anna Maria Mohr, probable daughter of Phillip Mohr in 1743. Their son Philip Catt (b.1750) was born near present day Moorefield, Hardy Co., West Virginia. Another descendant, Johannes Katz/John Catt married Catherine Mason, daughter of John Mason, Sr. and his wife Apolonia. Their son Johannes, Jr. (b.1787) was born in Fayette Co., Pennsylvania and was baptized at Masontown. Another son, Michael Catt (b.1794) was also born at Masontown. They were the parents of several other children. Later, family members were living in German Twp., Mason Co., Kentucky. Several generations of descendants are given.
Richard Jerome Hoke was born Feb. 22, 1921 in Haddon Township, Sullivan County, Indiana. He was the son of George Osborn Hoke and Esther Jerome Hudson.
Jared Haddon was born in England in 1608, and immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts during or before 1634. He lived in Cambridge and Amesbury, and died in 1689. Includes Adams, Bond, Brodie, Watson, Vandiver and related families.
Hendrick Van Gulick immigrated to New Amsterdam in 1653, with his wife, Geertruyt Willenkens, daughter of Jochem Willenkens, and two sons, Jan and Jochem. Hendrick died that same year. Jochem Gullick married Jacomyntie Van Pelt, daughter of Teunis Van Pel and Grietje Jans, about 1676. They had ten children and lived at Grevesend, Long Island, and Ten Mile Run, New Jersey. His will was proved in 1723 in New York. Descendants lived in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere.
The family, of English origin, first settled in the Connecticut valley in 1636.
