Blinky is a firefly. He has fun lighting up the night sky with his friends, who all enjoy sharing their glowing, twinkling lights with one another. One year, when the Fourth of July draws near, there have been many shortages, and so there are no fireworks to be found. All the people who live near Blinky are sad, especially the children. When they are sad, Blinky feels sad too. So he comes up with a brilliant idea that will help bring beautiful colors into the sky for the humans getting ready to celebrate the independence of the United States of America. With the help of some fruits and vegetables that allow them to change the colors of their lights, the fireflies provide their human friends with a Fourth of July celebration to remember. In this children’s story, during a year without fireworks, a special firefly and his friends work together to save the town’s Fourth of July celebration.

This is a story of my Dad who suffered a stroke in his early eighties and some of the many crazy and wild events, happenings and antics that he did and what we went through with him. Some of the stories are very funny and some are very serious. A stroke changed his thinking completely and to this day I still am in amazement in the changes in our lives when good health evades us. Also in his late years along with the complications of the stroke, along came some senility that somehow had been born in Dad. The following episodes are only a few of the stories that occurred but there are many, many more that I have not listed because some of them are very personal and maybe even somewhat embarrassing. I pray that Mom and Dad will enjoy reading them in Heaven especially my Mom since she wasnt here to enjoy the chaotic events and Dad to forgive me for sharing his life with others. Thank you Mom and Dad, Love you both.
This early work by Dorothy Wall was originally published in 1933 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'Blinky Bill: The Quaint Little Australian' is a children's story about Australia's most popular mischievous koala. Dorothy Wall was born on January the 12th, 1894 in New Zealand. From a young age Wall showed great talent as an artist and at age eleven won a scholarship for her drawing skills. She is most famous for creating Blinky Bill, an anthropomorphic koala who was the central character in her books Blinky Bill: the Quaint Little Australian, Blinky Bill Grows Up, and Blinky Bill and Nutsy. In 1985 a postage stamp honouring Wall for her creation, Blinky Bill, was issued by Australia Post as part of a set commemorating children's books.
The book is a highly personal story of a person afflicted by the debilitating illness known as dystonia, in this case affecting the eyelids. However, it is a very positive book and is not only for children but carries a message for adults as well. Although it has a specific theme, it is perfectly possible to enjoy it simply as a children's fictional book too. In a broader sense, it is simply about life.
A hurricane destroys the Squirrel clan's forest and the acorns they depend on to survive the coming winter. Faced with starvation, Blinky assembles a team with special skills to save the Squirrel clan. Follow their exploits as they raid Farmer Steve's barn for corn and outwit the Beast, a vicious guard dog, saving their family of fellow squirrels from starvation.
Winky, Blinky, and Snoozy is a story about three baby squirrels rescued by two little boys, Scott Crouch, eight years old and his brother JB, six years old. They cared for them all summer before they let them go. Twenty years later, Scott’s son, Scott 2, was born and Scott’s sister had a son, Jacob. The author got the idea to write this story while reliving this summer to the sons of Scott and Ginger. Jacob took the story to school for share time. His teacher loved it and suggested to have it published. Now twenty years later, you have it.
