The compiler has drawn her information from a thorough study of essentially all the relevant primary sources, as well as from numerous published materials, and arranged it in a basic dictionary format which is very easy to use. The compiler shows that thirty towns that were at some point part of Strafford County had Young residents, and that there were a dozen or more independent progenitors of the Young families in the county who came from England and Scotland in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and from Ireland and Canada in the nineteenth century. The lengthy introduction explains in detail the methodology and the format used.
