History of the Bingham Hill Cemetery reveals the identities of over 150 persons buried in an abandoned pioneer cemetery. The subject matter required intensive detective work and was handled in a matter-of-fact, yet sensitive manner. Includes 150 photographs, a survey, map and guide to the cemetery.
This genealogical work traces the descendants of Philip Mahoney to the author and the descendants of William Hodgkins that link to the Mahoney line. Initially this was the ancestry of Clyde Edward Mahoney and Alice Mabel (Hodgkins) Mahoney. This Mahoney line entered Maine from Quebec Province Canada. The Hodgkins line is descendant from the William Hodgkins of the Plymouth Plantation colony. A number of other genealogical connections are outlined as they contribute or descend from Clyde and Alice.
"The cemetery is located in the unincorporated area of Salt Lake County. It borders between South Jordan and the vicinity of Copperton. To get to the cemetery please follow these driving directions - It is located about 7800 West on the Old Bingham Highway which is the border between the cities of Sourth Jordan and West Jordan, Utah. From I-15 in Salt Lake City, take 9000 South (Exit #298). Follow 9000 South (SR-209) heading west for 2.8 miles. When 9000 South ends, bear left onto the Old Bingham Highway and continue west for another 5.1 miles. You will see the cemetery on the left side of the road, (the south side) as you are driving west. If you pass the bridge with an overpass, or if you see the Kennecott building you have driven too far." -- P. [15].
