In the year 2003, Lady Luck reached out to a hard-living, hard-working family in a small town in Orange County, New York. That was when a team from the Discovery Channel began filming the custom chopper shop of Paul "Senior" Teutul, his son Paulie, and the rest of their highly dysfunctional, totally authentic crew as they did what they do best: make great custom-crafted bikes from the ground up. Within a few episodes, the Teutuls were famous: for their hilarious head-butting, their outrageous yelling, their amazing designs, and, most of all, for being real every step of the way. With their hit show American Chopper turning into the Discovery Channel's top-rated program, the Teutuls became unlikely national icons. Now the Teutuls tell their story as it has never been told before. Senior chronicles his harrowing journey from a hell-raising teen to a star-crossed businessman desperately trying to keep his demons at bay. And Paulie remembers working by his father's side in their ironworks shop-and the bond that developed between them when they first built an EVO-powered custom chopper from scratch. From youngest son Mikey's entrance into the shop to all the other members of the extended OCC family, this is a chronicle of Panheads and Softails turned into gleaming works of art, of Old School design versus Paulie's amazing theme bikes that took custom biking by storm-and earned the Teutuls some of the most famous clients in the world. With over 60 family archive photos that capture this true rags-to-riches saga, Orange County Choppers is the raw, honest story of a family that was born to be wild, how they came together around a shared passion and skill-and how they captured the heart of America.
Secret Biker at the Altar is book 3 and the finale of the Blood Brothers MC trilogy! WE GOT AWAY FROM HIM ONCE. THIS TIME, WE WON'T BE SO LUCKY. Because my baby's father is back to claim what's his: Us. Five years in prison is enough to change anybody. And Kane has certainly changed. He's darker than he was before. Bigger. Scarier. But the hunger that drove him to take me in the first place… that hasn't changed one bit. He took the fall for me when I needed it. But now that he's returned, he wants to take back everything he once owned. That includes me. And once he finds out about our baby… He's going to drag me to the altar so I can never escape again. The sickest part of it all is… That I'm helpless to say no.
From the host of the YouTube channel that went viral—Dad, How Do I?—comes a book that’s part memoir/part inspiration/part DIY. Rob Kenney’s father left him and his seven siblings when he was fourteen years old, and the youngest had to fend for themselves. He wished that he had someone who could teach him the basics—how to tie a tie, jump-start a car, unclog a drain, use tools properly—as well as succeed in life. But he and his siblings had to figure these things out on their own. Now a father himself, Rob decided that he would help people out by providing how-to tips as well as advice—and even throw in some bad dad jokes. He started a YouTube channel for anyone looking for fatherly advice, and in the course of three months, gained a following of nearly 2.5 million subscribers, with millions of views for his how-to and inspirational videos. In this book, Rob shares his story of overcoming a difficult childhood with the strength of faith and family, and offers inspiration and hope. In addition, he provides 50 practical DYI instructions (30 of which will be unique to the book), illustrated with helpful line drawings.
Indistinct Appearance is the true story of Robert Uhl. As a youth he had to overcome many obstacles such as the death of his mother at age 13 and living with a father who was verbally and sometimes physically abusive. He served in the military for a total of 10 years (2 years active army and 8 years guard time) and has traveled to many different countries. After the military he attended Iowa Central Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. His education also included four years of a national electricians course, which he says is his second job but pay the best at this time. Robert has always been a resident of Iowa and also writes poetry and short stories, which has become a big part of his life. The book is indeed an autobiography but also tells a story that some may recognize and others should study; hence the title. His life held a secret that plagued him since early childhood but went undiscovered until age 42. He originally wrote the book for his children, which still holds true but also felt that its contents could help many people in the professional and non-professional fields. He writes of his life beginning around age 5 and continuing to around age 50. Due to the short life span of his family he wanted to complete the book for his children and others. He also says he expects to live a long time but there is always that 1% that bothers him. Others should know my story, as it could reroute a child or an adult' s path through life and make life much clearer then it seems to be at present.
Guy Martin can't sit still. He has to keep pushing - both himself and whatever machine he is piloting - to the extreme. He's a doer, not a talker. That applies whether Guy's competing in a self-supported 750-mile mountain bike race across Arizona, or trying to reach 300mph in a standing mile on the 800-horsepower motorbike he built in his shed. And during his TV adventures, travelling through Japan, winning records for the world's fastest tractor, re-creating the famous Steve McQueen Great Escape jump, discovering the toil and sacrifice of the D-Day landings and trying to cut the mustard as a Battle of Britain pilot. Guy's become a dad now and he's hoping that one day his daughter will grow up to be a better welder than he is. Oh, and he's still getting up at 5am to work on trucks in for service or to be out on his tractor, working the Lincolnshire land he's always called home. This is Guy Martin's latest book, in his own words, on the last four years of his life that make the rest of us look like we're in slow motion. We're here for a good time, not a long time. To Guy, if it's worth doing, it's worth dying for.
From award-winning Norwegian author Arne Svingen comes “an uplifting coming-of-age story” (The Wall Street Journal) about a relentlessly positive teenager who uses his love of opera to cope with his less-than-perfect home life. Bart is an eternal optimist. At thirteen years old, he’s had a hard life. But Bart knows that things won’t get any better if you have a negative attitude. His mother has pushed him into boxing lessons so that Bart can protect himself, but Bart already has defense mechanisms: he is relentlessly positive…and he loves opera. Listening to—and singing—opera is Bart’s greatest escape, but he’s too shy to share this with anyone. Then popular Ada befriends him and encourages him to perform at the school talent show. Ada can’t keep a secret to save her life, but Bart bonds with her anyway, and her openness helps him realize that his troubles are not burdens that he must bear alone. The Ballad of a Broken Nose is a sweet story about bravery, fear, bullying, sports, and music. But most of all it is about the important days of your life, days when everything seems to happen at once and nothing will ever be the same again.

Camisha Broussard's author debut, "Daddy Issues," offers a sometimes amusing, all-the-time hopeful, and eventual loving look at a dysfunctional parent-child relationship through the eyes of a fatherless daughter. Taking an atypical approach to the normal daughterless perspective, Camisha forces herself to reflect on the good things about her alcoholic father, humanizing him to the point of being more empathetic of the man he was, rather than remorseful of his shortcomings as the dad she wished him to be. From troubled teen to college professor, wife, and mother of four, Camisha's approach to the average fatherless daughter relationship is anything but stereotypical and is a profoundly holistic look at real life with real people who have real problems. From colorism to alcoholism, "Daddy Issues," promises readers a rollercoaster ride filled with every emotion imaginable reaching a final destination of forgiveness, hope, and finally love.
