"Behold the King and His Kingdom" reveals that there is more to the gospel message than meets the eye. The text places readers directly in the Kingdom and makes them personally aware of their legal status as a "Kingdom Citizen." (Practical Life)
"The Excellency of Christ" was preached in Northampton, Massachusetts by Jonathan Edwards and printed in 1738. This sermon explains Christ's excellency in terms of almost contradictory conjunctions such as Christ being a lion and also a lamb at the same time. In the APPLICATION the reader is exhorted to love and embrace Christ as friend, portion and Savior because of His many excellencies.
This narrative retelling of Jesus's life, death, and resurrection draws from all four Gospels to create one continuous story, helping readers encounter the truth about Jesus in a fresh and compelling way.
Most stories begin with, “Once upon a time...” but this story can not start that way because it has no beginning and it has no end. That's why it is hard to tell this story, but it is true. This story is about a Great King; the KING of kings and LORD of lords. This King was and always will be the greatest King. This King has many names but for the sake of this story I will be calling Him Eli. I picked this name because it means “My God.” Another reason it is hard to tell this story is that it resides in the realm of eternity while we are residing in the realm of time. This is the reason I can't say, “Once upon a time.” Now the realm of time has been within the realm of eternity since it was created, but trying to think out of this realm is very hard to do, if not impossible. But for the sake of this story we have to make some assumptions. So even though the story is true, some assumptions may not be completely accurate. One more point in this story should be mentioned at this time. Even though this story is about one King; one person, this King will appear in different ways. Sometimes as a consuming fire or a pillar of smoke or even a burning bush. Or as a Spiritual being or a Human being. Just like trying to understand time in eternity, trying to understand the person of this Great King is beyond our complete understanding. There are things we need to take by faith and this is one of them.
A study that attempts to remove the fog surrounding our perception of God's Kingdom. It may be a source for some new ideas and revelation challenging those commonly held about the Kingdom and attempting to set the foundation for how we should view God's Kingdom. It looks at how the coming of the King impacts the world and its people in every generation, revealing an invitation to take our rightful place in His Kingdom. It examines the mechanics and the dynamics of our inclusion into the Kingdom, and how it is expressed within His creation. We examine its nature as it emerges in the lives of individuals who embrace the King. And, finally, it looks at the structure, role and intrinsic values of the Church in the context of God's Kingdom.
Basing his work on careful study, the author has endeavored to fit the expositions to the needs of Christians at various stages of spiritual development. According to Dr. Macaulay, one can "hardly contest the regal character of Matthew's gospel." Thus, the general breakdown of the book is into The King and His Preparations, The King and His Procedures, The King and His Passion and The King and His Power. Perfect for the serious layman intent on discovering well-researched thoughts on the major themes of this great gospel, Behold Your King should serve as valuable supplementary reading for concentrated reading in Matthew. - Back cover.
While at a conference at O.R.U., Oral Roberts gave a sermon where he named Jesus in every book of the Bible. Lora was fascinated at the concept. At the prompting of the Holy Spirit, she painted a portrait of Jesus for every book of the Bible. Friends encouraged her to share some of the wonderful experiences with the Holy Spirit – thus, “Behold the King” became a reality.
The final book of the Bible, Revelation prophesies the ultimate judgement of mankind in a series of allegorical visions, grisly images and numerological predictions. According to these, empires will fall, the "Beast" will be destroyed and Christ will rule a new Jerusalem. With an introduction by Will Self.
"I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:3 The Final Chapter From Billy Graham. Experience the glory of heaven as Billy Graham, the beloved evangelist, shares from his past, and his present, the reality of eternity. As our nation and world travail in the midst of political, economic, and cultural uncertainties, we can find comfort in the hope that comes from the unchanging truth of God’s Word. Whether talking with a US president, a world leader, or the common man or being interviewed on network television, Billy Graham has always begun his answers with “The Bible says…” In Where I Am, Mr. Graham shares what the Bible has to say about eternity from all of its sixty-six books; messages of truth, warning, love, and the certainty of the future, all gleaned by a man who would like to be remembered solely as a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The greatest promise ever given to the human race came from the lips of our Redeemer when Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1–3). Just after his ninety-fifth birthday, Mr. Graham proclaimed with resolve, “When I die, tell others that I’ve gone to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—that’s where I am.”
Chinese pastor-teacher Watchman Nee in this volume leads his readers through the Gospel of Matthew, focusing on the theme of Jesus as King and Lord of our lives.
