Because Its Wrong is relevant today because each year, bullying is on the rise. Few people want to talk about the subject as if it is taboo. Lydia Greico, the author, was bullied herself in elementary school, as well as in the neighborhood in which she grew up. She feels that bullying is wrong, especially for the victim. Childhood bullies get away with their behavior because parents either dont see it or are in denial. Bullying is on the rise all over the world. It has to stop. How are we able to make America great again with this kind of behavior? Our president can only do so much. It is up to us to do our part too. Parents need to pay more attention to what their children are doing and what is being done to their children. This book was written as a teaching tool. Lydia Greico has a masters degree in occupational studies and is licensed as a psychiatric technician. Psychiatric technicians advocate for people who cannot advocate for themselves. Ms. Greico is now retired from this profession, but she still advocates for those who need it. Lydia Greico has authored two other books and articles on different subjects. She earned her MA degree from California State University at Long Beach in 2006. It is the authors hope that someone will learn from Because Its Wrong and aid in her campaign against bullying. Without bullying, we can make our children safer and decrease suicides that are the result of this type of treatment. May God bless all the children who were bullied so bad that they saw no other way out but to commit suicide.
INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “One of the most important books I’ve ever read—an indispensable guide to thinking clearly about the world.” – Bill Gates “Hans Rosling tells the story of ‘the secret silent miracle of human progress’ as only he can. But Factfulness does much more than that. It also explains why progress is so often secret and silent and teaches readers how to see it clearly.” —Melinda Gates "Factfulness by Hans Rosling, an outstanding international public health expert, is a hopeful book about the potential for human progress when we work off facts rather than our inherent biases." - Former U.S. President Barack Obama Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of only carrying opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends—what percentage of the world’s population live in poverty; why the world’s population is increasing; how many girls finish school—we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess teachers, journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers. In Factfulness, Professor of International Health and global TED phenomenon Hans Rosling, together with his two long-time collaborators, Anna and Ola, offers a radical new explanation of why this happens. They reveal the ten instincts that distort our perspective—from our tendency to divide the world into two camps (usually some version of us and them) to the way we consume media (where fear rules) to how we perceive progress (believing that most things are getting worse). Our problem is that we don’t know what we don’t know, and even our guesses are informed by unconscious and predictable biases. It turns out that the world, for all its imperfections, is in a much better state than we might think. That doesn’t mean there aren’t real concerns. But when we worry about everything all the time instead of embracing a worldview based on facts, we can lose our ability to focus on the things that threaten us most. Inspiring and revelatory, filled with lively anecdotes and moving stories, Factfulness is an urgent and essential book that will change the way you see the world and empower you to respond to the crises and opportunities of the future. --- “This book is my last battle in my life-long mission to fight devastating ignorance...Previously I armed myself with huge data sets, eye-opening software, an energetic learning style and a Swedish bayonet for sword-swallowing. It wasn’t enough. But I hope this book will be.” Hans Rosling, February 2017.

"The Trial of Reuben Crandall, M.D." is a book about one of the most important court trials which boosted the abolitionist moods in the United States. Reuben Crandall was a physician arrested in Washington, D.C., on August 10, 1835, on charges of "inciting slaves and free blacks to revolt." Although a jury found him innocent of all charges, he was still imprisoned, which led to increased support for abolitionism.
He'll make me his perfect little pleasure trophy... Who knew reading sexy alien abduction stories could get a girl into trouble? Or that an e-reader could also be the gateway to another galaxy? I definitely didn't... but here I am anyway, mated to the Tsenturion High Commander just like the unwilling human heroines in my favorite sci-fi romances. The Commander demands obedience. He intends to claim me, train me, and turn me into his perfect little pleasure trophy. He doesn't believe in love. I don't believe in giving in without a fight. There's no amount of discipline or ecstasy that could break me to his will... I hope. Alien Captive is a hot alien abduction romance, starring one feisty human and the Tsenturion Warrior strong enough to master her. Disclaimer: the authors are not responsible for any actual alien abductions that may result should you purchase this book. ;)
We as individuals make up God's Church, not buildings or religion. People leaving religion also left God behind. Why? Can they come back to Him - would they want to? This is about good people from all walks of life coming together no matter beliefs or unbelief's. With or without God, with or without religion. It talks of uniting the world rather than keeping it divided as it is now. It's a book of love, peace and of coming together. A coming together of all people no matter what race, religion, age, size, sex, colour, lifestyle preferences or anything else. It also explores about supernatural gifts and how to test the spirits of those dead and living. A subject the church refuses to acknowledge, thereby pushing so many into false gods and spiritual practices. This book is packed with far more than is able to be listed here, but it is a book everyone should read if they want to make a difference to the world we see and live in today.
Gen-Xers' search to find a code to live by--legal and spiritual--is at the center of a startlingly original tale about two friends trying to save a third from false criminal accusations.
