Interest in Asiatic Blattidae coupled with gradual acquisition of considerable Malayan material led to author Hebard¿s first large contribution toward a better knowledge of the subfamilies, genera, & species to be found there. Early in his Malayan studies (in the 1920s) he found it advisable to make comparisons, particularly with possibly closely related Australian species of the Blattidae.
