Special 10th anniversary edition of an Aussie holiday favourite. Twas the night before Christmas; there wasnt a sound. Not a possum was stirring; no-one was around. Wed left on the table some tucker and beer, Hoping that Santa Claus soon would be here. Christmas in the middle of an Australian summer means Santa has to find new ways to deliver his presents. The obvious solutions are to don a sunhat, shorts and a pair of thongs, not to mention ditching the sleigh and reindeer in favour of some roos and a ute. The gentle illustrations are packed with familiar icons cleverly woven into the visual narrative to recreate the warm, comforting, family atmosphere that Christmas is all about.
This charming Christmas story answers the question, 'What does Santa do when he isn't getting ready for Christmas?'. He takes a well-deserved holiday! Join Santa and his new Aussie mates as they travel around Australia, from the Great Barrier Reef to Rottnest Island.

Join Santa on his magical sleigh ride over Australia where he is always secretly excited to visit to deliver his glittering presents. The stars of the Southern Cross in the Milky Way guide him over Uluru, on to tropical Queensland where he sings Christmas carols with the kookaburras. His journey takes him to the Great Barrier Reef where he spies phosphorescence he’s never seen before and on to Sydney, through the mouth of Luna Park, just for fun. The devils in the Tasmanian forest astonish him and he is amazed by Wilpena Pound. Santa’s smile is as wide as that of the crocodile he encounters in the Kimberley.
The day before Christmas, Kathryn's present from Uncle Dingo arrives in a big box. Naturally, it's a lively kangaroo. Kathryn can't wait to show grandma, so she hops onto Adelaide's back and off they go! But getting to Grandma's proves more difficult than expected. Honking horns and screeching breaks frighten Adelaide into taking off on her own. In typical James Flora fashion, chaos and pure silliness ensue!

Ho Ho Ho! Its Christmas Eve and Father Christmas and his reindeer are in full swing, delivering presents to all the good boys and girls, when suddenly disaster strikes as Santa gets a surprise of his own! Will Christmas be ruined this year, or will it be a clean getaway for Santa? Find out in this hilarious and sweet reimagining of Clement C. Moore's classic poem, that is sure to delight both children and their parents alike! This is a beautifully illustrated and unique take on the classic poem that is sure to put a smile on everyones face this Christmas! A word from the author: "I absolutely loved Clement C. Moore's poem as a child, but when I grew up and tried to read it to my own children, they did not share my enthusiasm. The book is truly a classic but also a little outdated, but one of my children's biggest gripes was the absence of Rudolph. Poor Clement...he wasn't to know. I felt sad that they couldn't share in my enjoyment of the original, especially as it is is the only story to name all the rendeer (well minus one), so I vowed to try and rewrite this story whilst breathing new life into it. Now tackling what it without a doubt the most famous poem in the English language was not a task that I undertook lightly, but it has been given the seal of approval from my little ones, and I truly belief I have created something original, sweet and funny, whilst maintaining the essence of the original. This year, more than most, we need a little festive cheer. So with that in mind, I hope you enjoy the book, and wish you all a Merry Christmas!"
