Secret identities, second chances, drama, desire: It’s all going down in Miami Beach in this tantalizing novel from the bestselling author of Pull Me Close, which was hailed by Aurora Rose Reynolds as “a heart-gripping story about . . . the power of love.” April: Walking away from Matt Moreno was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Lying to him was a close second, but for his safety, I had no other choice. I was undercover, working to put some nasty people behind bars. But when Matt nearly recognizes me on Lincoln Road a year later, all those very real feelings come rushing back. Now that my assignment’s almost over, will he understand why I lied? Why I had to leave? Most important, can he ever forgive me? Matt: I was madly in love with June Simpson . . . or, at least, with the woman I thought was June. Then she just disappeared while my family’s nightclub went through hell. And after months of searching, when I think I’ve finally found that sexy, raspy voice and those exquisite blue eyes, she slips away once more. Turns out, “June” is actually Detective April White. She’s been playing me the whole time. And she’s about to rock my world all over again. No cheating. No cliffhangers. And no dress code. Don’t miss Sidney Halston’s Panic series: PULL ME CLOSE | MAKE ME STAY | KISS ME BACK | WHAT ABOUT US And look for all of her hard-hitting MMA romances: AGAINST THE CAGE | FULL CONTACT | BELOW THE BELT | LAID OUT | FIGHTING DIRTY | STACKED UP Praise for Sidney Halston’s first Panic novel, Pull Me Close “A magnificent story full of deep emotion that will get you straight in the ‘feels.’ . . . First love. Second Chances. Friends-to-lovers. Enemies-to-lovers. Roomates-to-lovers. Love-hate. Opposites attract. Forbidden romance. Little sisters. Older brothers. Best friends. Charming billionaires. Inked firefighters. Players meeting their match. Everyone remembers their firsts. First kiss. First love. First heartbreak. First…everything. The first time Liam Sullivan met Samantha Brennan it was an unexpected encounter—a not so ‘meet-cute.’ It was good for him. Bad for her. He wanted her at first sight. She wished she never laid eyes on him. The charming billionaire with all the ink and dimples and flirt, and the girl who’s been burned badly once before by someone he reminds her of? What could possibly go wrong? Everything. Everything could go wrong. Especially when you add in an overbearing older brother, a blast from the past, and a man who will not give up…no matter what. The first time Connor Brennan met Riley Sullivan it was on a blind-date. One he orchestrated as a dare, a challenge. One that came back to bite him in the you know where. That blind-date turned into him meeting his match, his soulmate. But it’s not that simple. Nothing ever is. She’s Liam’s little-sister, and just like Connor, she comes with a wealth of chaos. He loves to throw out challenges—now he must deal with one. But it’s not just challenges standing in his way, or her, or her older brother. Riley has a secret. And when that secret is exposed—the challenge, the chaos? He hasn’t seen anything yet. The first time Aiden Masters met Allie James the best thing that could be said is that they both made it out of the room alive—and so did everyone else. It wasn’t love at first sight. Or second or third. Or tenth. Opposites attract? Not exactly. Forbidden romance? Not that either. More like forbidden everything. Which causes the hate. The animosity. The angst. Which then of course leads to blurred lines, burning sheets, and trouble. So much trouble. You know what they say about hate and love? It’s a thin line. But Aiden’s line is blue. And what’s a cop to do when Allie’s family is embroiled in the criminal? Blur some more lines or move on once and for all. The first time Ryan Flannery met Elizabeth Masters was a meeting that would change everything for him and her. He was knocked, rocked, and thrown. And he didn’t like it one bit. He was someone who’s been around the block a time or two…or a hundred. Definitely a hundred. He knew way too much about the opposite sex that he’s forgotten most of it and them. He’s too much of everything for someone like Beth. She’s working on a list of firsts—first date, first kiss, first…everything. He shouldn’t want her—she belongs with someone better. He should let her complete her list of firsts in peace. With her past she deserves that and more. But it’s complicated. Because he does want her. He wants all her firsts. And he wants her to be his first too—in the way that counts the most. His first love…and his last. His only. Everyone remembers their firsts. Especially them.
When I started writing this journal, I had no intentions anyone else would even see a page of this because it had the worst of my life, and I didn't want anyone I love read it and loose respect in the person I push in public. I'm a very shy and very naive person. I am basically a loner. It is very hard for me to make friends, so I stay home a lot. Not too long ago, even in my old age, I found a very wonderful person that could see into my soul and pull me out. Diane and I have gotten to be the best of friends. Her name is Diane Wilson and she is the most wonderful, loving, caring friend I know! She listens to all my troubles and gives me advise, even though she has more than her share of troubles. She talks and I feel that I do have purpose in life. She is the sister I never had. She has so many problems, but she finds the time to be my best friend. I never liked this town--because the roll the streets up in the evening (well, it does seem like it). There aren't any places to go---nothing to see. Not for the adults--not for the kids. But, my sista-pal texts me and asks if Paul has any coffee left, or we will go out. We call that our gal-pal time. We just go to McD's and have a coke or a frape'and I tell her my troubles and she tells me her troubles. We would talk for ages, and cry in our frepe'. I would like to thank everyone for all the time they have spent making it possible for a shy, scared great grandmother to share her life----such as it is.
It is 1988, and Chicago is a center of electro-industrial music. To secure the opportunity, they must move immediately, leaving everything and everyone behind in Ohio, including Jonathan's lover Amy--the woman who saved him from self-destruction. With few belongings and little money, they arrive in Chicago. While creating their newest band, Jonathan attempts to come to terms with abandoning Amy while Scott battles haunting memories of a friend killed years earlier. As they struggle to keep it together, a new woman enters Jonathan's life and their band reaches new heights in the music scene. But nothingis asit appears, everyone is harboring secrets, and self-deceit is a treacherous illusion that hangs over them like a dark shadow. A Perfect Blindnesslays bare a tale of perseverance, passion, and regret as two musicians embark on the arduous journey to find success and confront truths that have always eluded them--until now.

This “exhilarating novel” of love, longing, and exile “captures the passion of a century in turmoil” (Rahna Reiko Rizzuto, author of Hiroshima in the Morning). From the “outstanding” Czech writer Monika Zgustova, The Silent Woman depicts a twentieth-century woman’s life against a backdrop of war and political turmoil (Vaclav Havel). Sylva, half Czech and half German, is born into an aristocratic family and lives in a castle outside Prague. She marries a man she doesn’t love and is seduced by the joyful madness of Paris in the 1920s as an ambassador’s wife. When the Nazis force her to state her loyalty, she capitulates, not realizing how this decision will inform and haunt the rest of her life. Sylva’s story is interwoven with that of her son Jan, a world-renowned mathematician and Russian emigre living in the United States, who exudes the restlessness of a man without a country. With insight and candor, Zgustova weaves a multigenerational narrative of the consequences of moral choices and how individuals come to terms with their own forms of exile.
