Philip Peter Visinard was born in Germany in 1684. He married Allena Neff in 1710 and in 1731 he brought his wife and two of his sons to America settling in Pennsylvania. Later his descendants moved to North Carolina and on to Indiana and later further west. Information on many of his descendants who later changed their names to various forms of Whisnsant are included in this book along with some families which can not be positively connected to this family. Several children's lines are followed giving as much information was readily available or submitted. Descendants now live in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and elsewhere throughout the United States.
Charles Woolverton was in Burlington County, New Jersey, by 1693, and appears in records there and in Hunterdon County until 1727. David Macdonald and Nancy McAdams have traced Charles' descendants to the seventh generation, by which time they had spread out to many parts of the country ... The compilers have carefully explained their handling of problem areas, including the need to refute longstanding family lore about the immigrant ... John Manning? Cain (1779-1876) was either born in Rutherford Co., N. C. or near Richmond, Va. He was buried in Gwinnett Co., Ga. He married Harriet Malinda (Milly?) Prickett/Pritchard in 1804 and they had five children. In 1825, he married Edna Poole (1783-ca. 1856) and they had one son. All the families of this book were intermarried. Descendants and relatives lived chiefly in the South.
