The life and times of Bob Dahl who was born and raised on Sand Island, which is part of the Apostle Islands archipelago on Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin. Born in 1942, the author has written a series of short stories that document the unique life-style of a people who earned their living fishing the waters of the greatest of the Great Lakes. His ancestors settled on the island in the 1890s and fished commercially until 1954.
