One of the great est draw backs in t' e irly d tys was the often impassible roads. The roads were generally a single track throurh the great forest, and ir was many years before the trees were out to let the sun in to dry them. Another ditliculty was the bridges. The riia full Was heavier than of late years and it Ceemcd that no matter how high we made the btifines the water would get. High enough to take them out. There was a wooden bridge over the river in Iiiaquoizeta part of the time, and it was out a good part of the time.' When the bridge was out; and the river low enough we would ford it. But in the Spring there was much of the time the road through the river bottoms would be under water so we could not reach the bridge.
