Here is a book that was neither written by a human nor dictated by the Holy Spirit to a human. It is the perspective of an angel, a disinterested third party who is neither human nor divine. Augie is a working angel who, like most angels, troubleshoots and serves God as a messenger, guardian, avenger, chaperoneyou name it, Augie has done it. For reasons unknown, Augies superiors select him to write a book, giving him no reason and no guidelines. Augie figures it must be to help humans understand the spirit world a little better. It was strange that Augie was selected because he takes a rather dim view of the human species. He feels that the sacrifice of Jesus to purchase mankind was like a human who spent a fortune to buy the Brooklyn Bridge. Being a good angel, however, he takes to his task willingly and digs into his case filesreports that all angels must submit following encounters with humans. He includes an after-action summary as a sort of debrief in which he records the important details that he feels humans are too ignorant to see on their own. The result is this book. Since heaven submitted it for publication, I guess they think Augie did an okay job.
From Jody Sharpe, Award Winning, Bestselling Author 1st Place Winner of the 2023 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest Award for Fiction For Adult Readers - Novellas The Bully Never Wins. Angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors. "As much as this is a story of angels and psychics, it's also a story of small-town life affected by an outsider bully's influence and approach, providing lessons not just of a spiritual nature, but on how to confront bullying and prejudice with a gentler perspective on life. As faith meets fear, different points of view present dilemmas from a number of angles, engaging readers in more than a cursory examination of clashing belief systems. The only prerequisite for enjoyment of this story is the ability to read about the presence of angels and their guidance of human affairs. Those who welcome the thought, appearance, and approaches of angels in everyday life will relish the positive notes, mystery, and problem-solving attitudes of angel and human alike in this gentle story of kindness, hope, belief, and resolving differences." When an inquisitive angel named Elya comes to Earth, she assumes the form of an extraordinarily beautiful young woman, and promptly proceeds to poke holes in the foundation of human society. Why, she wants to know, are we so irrational, so willing to lie to each other, and have so many ineffective laws on the books? When she assumes the form of a well-known judge, she overturns every legal precedent with her energy, her questions, and her humorous unraveling of the legal profession. Great fun by a master of fantasy satire. First publication in book form.
