This paper proposes improvements to the integrated ANP–DEMATEL method by bringing together the neutrosophic numbers, the ANP method, and the DEMATEL method, which are later abbreviated to NS-DANP.
The recent boom of various integrated decision-making methods has attracted many researchers to the field. The recent integrated Analytic Network Process and Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (ANP–DEMATEL) methods were developed based on crisp numbers and fuzzy numbers. However, these numbers are incapable of dealing with the indeterminant and inconsistent information that exists in real-life problems. This paper proposes improvements to the integrated ANP–DEMATEL method by bringing together the neutrosophic numbers, the ANP method, and the DEMATEL method, which are later abbreviated to NS-DANP. The proposed NS-DANP method can handle the indeterminacy elements in the decision-making environment, as the single-valued neutrosophic numbers are used in the decision analysis. This proposed NS-DANP modification method includes linguistic variables representing the single-valued neutrosophic numbers (SVNNs), and also introduces the single-valued neutrosophic weighted averaging (SVNWA) aggregation operator to aggregate the decision makers’ judgments instead of the typical averaging method.
The recent boom of decision-making under uncertain information has attracted many researchers to the field of integrating various types of sets with decision-making methods. In this paper, a combined decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) with single-valued neutrosophic sets is proposed to solve the decision problem. This new model combines the advantages of multiplicative inverse of decision matrix in DEMATEL and neutrosophic numbers in linguistic variables, which can find the interrelationship among factors of decision problem. Differently from the typical multiplicative inverse of DEMATEL, which directly used inverse of matrix using real numbers, this method introduces the concept of inverse of matrix using the proposed left–right neutrosophic numbers. This step will enhance the validity of multiplicative inverse of decision matrix in the DEMATEL with neutrosophic numbers. The proposed neutrosophic DEMATEL is also be compared with the DEMATEL and fuzzy DEMATEL. This paper includes a case study that demonstrates the applicability of the neutrosophic DEMATEL in establishing the relationship among influential factors of coastal erosion.

This paper proposes a hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic set (HBVNS) based on the combination of bipolar neutrosophic sets and hesitant fuzzy sets. The proposed set generalizes the notions of fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set, hesitant fuzzy set, single-valued neutrosophic set, single-valued neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set, bipolar fuzzy set and bipolar neutrosophic set. Further, we define the basic operational laws, union, intersection and complement for hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic elements (HBVNEs) and study its associated properties. Some relevant examples are also given to provide a better understanding of the proposed concept. Two aggregation operators are developed based on HBVNS which are the hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic weighted averaging (HBVNWA) and the hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic weighted geometric (HBVNWG). A decision making method is developed based on new sets and the proposed HBVNWA and HBVNWG operators. Finally, an illustrative example is given to show the applicability of the proposed decision making method. A comparative analysis with the existing methods is also provided.
This book presents innovative operations research applications in business, specifically industrial engineering and its sub-disciplines. It investigates new perspectives in operations research and management science with regard to research methods, the research context, and industrial engineering, offering readers a broad range of new approaches to management problems. The book features the latest work of researchers who have worked with Professor Fusun Ulengin or built upon her work in their academic careers. This book presents recent research in intelligent and fuzzy techniques. Emerging conditions such as pandemic, wars, natural disasters and various high technologies force people for significant changes in business and social life. The adoption of digital technologies to transform services or businesses, through replacing non-digital or manual processes with digital processes or replacing older digital technology with newer digital technologies through intelligent systems is the main scope of this book. It focuses on revealing the reflection of digital transformation in our business and social life under emerging conditions through intelligent and fuzzy systems. The latest intelligent and fuzzy methods and techniques on digital transformation are introduced by theory and applications. The intended readers are intelligent and fuzzy systems researchers, lecturers, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students studying digital transformation. Usage of ordinary fuzzy sets and their extensions, heuristics and metaheuristics from optimization to machine learning, from quality management to risk management makes the book an excellent source for researchers.
“Neutrosophic Sets and Systems” has been created for publications on advanced studies in neutrosophy, neutrosophic set, neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics that started in 1995 and their applications in any field, such as the neutrosophic structures developed in algebra, geometry, topology, etc.
The decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) has been used to solve numerous multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems, where real numbers are utilised in defining linguistic variables. Although the DEMATEL has shown its success in solving many decision-making problems, researchers have not fully understood how the DEMATEL works on nonreal-number linguistic variables. Recent discovery of single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) can offer a new method to solve decision-making problems, where three memberships of SVNSs are used to define experts’ linguistic judgment. This paper aims to propose a novel MCDM method, where SVNSs and the DEMATEL are fully utilised. Different from the DEMATEL, which directly utilises real numbers, this proposed method introduces SVNSs to better deal with truth, indeterminacy, and falsity in solving MCDM problem.
Deneutrosophication is a process to evaluate real output from neutrosophic information. The paper presents on a novel deneutrosophication algorithm. The process is developed with similarity measure and probability density function (PDF). This similarity measure is newly defined to prepare a correct transformation from neutrosophic set (NS) to fuzzy set (FS). Then an approach to find PDF is formulated which relates with fuzzy set. Finally, the algorithm has been implemented in solving a critical path problem to find out the completion time of a certain project.
